Old Timer
Hi folks, The driver's window on my 2005 Lupo GTI has chosen this heatwave to pack up. The switch is fine so I did a "phone a friend", and he tells me the window motor is part No. 6X0 959 801B priced at a mere £260 from VW! Anyone out there got any tricks to repair the motor or replace from another car? Any help would be much appreciated?
Rich
if you are sure it is the motor then i could do one without the mech in a week or so when i dig one out ?

mk2
to check it's the motor 100%, just supply power directly to it. one way +- is window up, the other -+ is window down. don't leave power connected as you'll definitely burn it out. Old Timer
Thanks mk2, I'll do that before anything else.
weslangdon
If you can locate one, I'd chose a wind up window regulator over the electric version, these are a problem on both Lupo's and Arosa's. I know it won't fit in with the style of a GTI but if you want an easy life...keep it simple
Old Timer
Thanks Weslangdon, That sounds like great advice, and I should take it, but I'm determined to keep the car factory look and spec. Thank you for your thoughts.
