Backbox

If you take the backbox off and say weld a straight pipe in do you loose power and what does it sound like? Still keeping the mid box and cat?

I reckon it'll sound pretty nice. My old lupo 1.0 has the exhaust fall off at one point, sounded great haha.

Sounds good but you lose back pressure and the car feels sluggish

I found a straight through on a petrol would sound way too loud and performance wise on a 1.0 probably wouldn't give much performance gain. On a tdi it'd take less time for the turbo to spool so turbo lag will be reduced, however it would feel 'sluggish' due to the loss of the initial boost in one go but in actual fact it would be a little bit quicker, with the appropriate supporting mods of course.

Going off precious experience on my other cars.

Wouldn't give much performance gain? Gain being the wrong word in this situation, more about how much performance loss. Still, if you're driving a 1.0 E performance isn't the biggest deal is it
