I found a straight through on a petrol would sound way too loud and performance wise on a 1.0 probably wouldn't give much performance gain. On a tdi it'd take less time for the turbo to spool so turbo lag will be reduced, however it would feel 'sluggish' due to the loss of the initial boost in one go but in actual fact it would be a little bit quicker, with the appropriate supporting mods of course.

Going off precious experience on my other cars.

Hope this helps.

Wouldn't give much performance gain? Gain being the wrong word in this situation, more about how much performance loss. Still, if you're driving a 1.0 E performance isn't the biggest deal is it :P
