DIY Lowering Springs without Spring Compressor?

The best way to do it is hold the strut in one hand, and your spanner in the other, loosen the top bolt while holding the spring down with your chin...

You should be able to do the rears without a spring compressor by undoing the strut at the axle and swinging the axle down. Tight squeeze but I'm sure you'll be able to do it with your hands. As already mentioned though it's mental trying to properly compress a spring without the right tools. If the springs unloads then you can pretty much say cheerybye to having a head.
