to be honest, just add 10l per tank full of diesel to see you it goes for a bit. if wanting to run it fully on oil I don't know enough about the fuel pump on the lupo. not sure who made it. just run like I said but do change the filter after about 500 miles, then maybe again 500 to 1000 after depending how you use it

don't have to declare it to no one as the tax has already been paid on it. regarding mpg, no you don't get as much, but on a tank full costing £100 of derv, it only cost me £70 in oil last year

Hi, as a new person to lupos I'm still unaware of the different centre dashes there are and fitting later spec to old. An arosa parked next to me the other day and it's air vents kind of mirrored the Speedo in shape. is there a how to on here? excuse me if so but viewing this on my crap phone

where I spoke of the starter motor, this only starts giving hassle if the glow plugs aren't really working too well. it's worth when starting from cold too let the light go out twice to make sure they are properly heated up

when temp is cold it also puts more strain on starter motor and glow plugs

make sure it's pure veg oil. Tesco sell 2 bottles of 5l for about £10.was £9 last year

I ran my t4 on it, all really depends on the fuel pump as veg oil can perish the seals. also depends how the fuel is squirted into the engine. 1st time using oil, change the fuel filter after 500 odd miles, also can add a little 2stroke oil as it lubes the engine. to thin it all you can also add a tiny amount of unleaded! well, you could in my van, not so sure on a lupo

look for rubber grommets in the bulk head.

I bought a little socket set from Halfrauds, managed 3of them. one nearest the coil wouldn't reach!

The previous owner ripped out the stereo taking the ISO plug with it. I'm after the correct colour wiring so I can wire up my alpine head unit. I think some manufacturers swapped power leads? Been a while since I wired up a stereo so could do with a hand :-D

lol. yes both don't work. I'm guessing that as one part of the switch on the drivers side is broke/missing, then it's not completing the circuit? I've seen the check strap thread ;-)

go to gsf or eurocarparts and buy a complete exhaust bar the cat if that's ok. not hard to fit. did my t4 van in McDonalds car park ;-)

I had travelled hours by train from Southend to smegness, no way wasting going to spend another 5 hours plus to get home. it did only cost me £185 though ;-) previous owners were knobs as far as I can tell. have put the air filter back in and sprayed some carb cleaner I'm need to do a better job but was rushed for time. changed 3 plugs, yes only 3 as 1 wouldn't come out. need a deep spark plug socket. I'm not even sure the wheels are vw! I'll find some 14" steelies to bung on. oh and another reason I wasn't going to travel home is my legs and feet are in major pain

Hi ya. Picked up a 1.4s from smegness earlier and it has a few faults! It cuts out when coming to a stop, the windows don't work at all ( passenger switch on drivers side broke ) plenty of scratches and dents, check strap very noisy, and think exhaust blowing. not much power either, was thinking there would be more. regarding the cutting out what should I check, and what tools are needed? cheers Gary

Wotcha all. I'm Gary from Southend and an old git. Have owned over 70 vehicles now and many dubs, from a rusty beetle, t4 van, mk2 polos and golfs,sciroccos,t25s etc etc. Now about to try my hand at belittle 1.4 lupo. I may be old but still like a slammed car ;-)

what finish are you after! even using rustoleum and rolled on you can get a smooth finish

I managed to do it on a 6n polo. Used a trolley jack and normal jack. Basically putting a load on it and dropping the shocks slowly but keeping the car in the air.
