Wolf RS
Hey.Did buy myself a Lupo.As there was some minor defekts the price was right.Around 650Euro was the price.Just about exellent for a -01.So now i have to make something out of this to Here the subject.I have not really introduced myself You could say i'm a VW-crazyperson or just mad.But the truth is i like VW:s.At the moment i have 1,2,3.......6st VW:s just now.Jetta CL 1,6 75hp -87 , White.Jetta Syncro 1,8 90hp -88 , White.Golf GTi 16V 140hp -87 , Silvermetallic.Golf GTi 16V 140hp -88 , Black.Golf VR6 Syncro 190hp , Blumetallic(purple).Lupo 1,4 16V 75hp -01 , Softblue. The Black Golf GTi 16V is a dedicated "trackdaycar" althou streetlegal and with MOT.The car has a full cage made for rallying with extra x-braces welded in.No other interior then seats , cage and heater so you can do isracing in wintertime But then i have 2st "papercars" also. They are still around on paper but just on paper.I have the plates and the chassienumbers still soo.......yes They are:Jetta GT 16V 140hp -87 , Green/Black(depending on MOT-written color).Golf GTi 16V 140hp -88 , Red.So now some of you may understand a little bit more about the Lupoprodjekt. The Loop IS STILL going to be my everydaycar to ride me and my daughter in around.Still going to work around at winthertime in -40 and summer +35 degres. So , yes quite mad but i love it.I have attended Trackdays with Swedens VW-club since 1998.Have been active in the same club since then too , in the running of the club for a couple of years to.Now i'm only "active" to some point. VW-LUPO-S
in all honesty when i purchased mine, all 3 my brothers are mechanics and they said, the gearbox's are useless, mine has gone in the past 6 months i wasnt sure what it was but it would only drive up to 35mph, i would just search if a gti box will fit?, or maybe a polo gearbox, not sure if there even different.just make sure you know the wheels fit, i brought some wheels slapped my low profiles on and they rubbed so had to get my arches rolled, other than that i would talk to rich or silver, they seem to know loads about lupos! and if you can help it don't smooth boot, looks better with the badge, and don't put arosa rear lights in! (EVER) hahaother than that have fun in it, great cars!
Wolf RS
Gearbox IS useless I also work as a VW/Audi-mechanic at our local VAG.But that doesn't help against VW/Seat designing crappy gearboxes.Polo has one that fit , Arosa , Lupo and Golf.Don't know about Skoda??It has to have the usless gearpin in the bottom of the shell.Thats the bad design , that oil seal/radial seal is where the oil drains and the gearbox runs dry.But i still need a replacement gearbox. This one that's in the car was suppose to be "shot" but still runs tho.I don't think it will run as well for long so that's why i want to search for a replacement.Wheels you say Arches you say??I will make them fit!I do think arcehs will have to be smooothened Edited July 22, 2013 by Wolf RS
VW-LUPO-S
vw, skoda, audi, seat its all the same really aint it.Wheels you say Arches you say??I will make them fit!I do think arcehs will have to be smooothened determination! liking it.as for the gearbox ask silver to help you out, or have a browse on ebay, i got mine off there for 35,000 bronze pennies! bargain!

Wolf RS
Sooo , now back again. After the slight misshap with the gearbox.Didn't exactly count that in to buy a new gearbox at this moment.Found one in town for 500Euro aprox.Thats about the cost here.A used one from 400-650Euro , Ebay 400euro (redone). The breakersyard want about 400-1000euro for a used one.So the prices are killing me , i did NOT want to pay these amount of money. The guy i found that had hes gearbox out on ad wanted 500.Brought down the price thru negotiating and anoying nagging into the sellers head The conversation over text(by phone) resulted in the endprice as 300Euro.On site at sellers i found more bits.In the end i got a clutch as good as new.....ehh not new but very OK.And a clutch pressureplate in the same OK condition. So a little bit of a bargin i think. Finally i can go to the garage a get something constructive done Now it's only the matter of changing the gearbox , booring. Danyutz
You must remove the upper cover [ 2 torx screws before the dials ], after removing the top cover, you have 3 torx screws [ sides and one in the middle ], remove those and you can pull the dials up.
