sharpelupo
hi guys and girls basically my gti has developed a bit of an odd banging noise from the rear while im driving along, its on coilovers with the adjusters taken out, iv got out and bounced the back down as hard as I can but no noise so im guessing its not the rear suspension, iv pushed down on the exhaust again no noise, I havnt been able to get under it yet just seeing if anyone else has had this problem, only thing I can think is that a exhaust rubber had broken and that section is hitting something any help would be great guys

Pete91
Is it happening when on a flat or on a bouncy bit of road? The rear shocks occasionally bottom out on mine on really bouncy roads.
sharpelupo
Right it up in the air and found this: Someone bodged it on and bangs fairly easily on the heat shield, but i also found that driver side rear shock was wet around the top of the strut:Does this mean the shocks gone? Or on the way out? If so any suggestions to some new decent rear shocks that could take the abuse?
