Wedge75
Hi guys wired in my sub and amp today Been for a drive and noticed that the sub wasn't working (before I left was working amazing ) But every time I move forward or backwards the sub would cut out but if I stop with just the foot brake nothing stop and pull the handbreak it works perfectly after rolling forward and applying the handbrake again Any ideas

Pete
I was gonna say, the signal/remote wire will more than likely be the cause of you're issue, especially if its been wired incorrectly.
Wedge75
I thought it just seemed weird that it worked while stationary but not while rolling any ideas why??

Pete91
You haven't earthed it so that it only comes on when you're stationary, have you? Like, earthed it on the hand brake?
Wedge75
Earthed it to one of the loops in the boot area behind the seats

Pete
Explain exactly when it does and doesn't work.
Wedge75
Works 7/10 times when stopped with the handbrake up and out of gear Then I pull backwards or forwards and the sub cuts out
Pete
Where have you run the wires down the car? Any chance you can pull the unit out to give us a good look at your joining points? Coz the only thing I can guess at is for some reason as soon as the h/u realises the car is moving it cuts the sub out, in the same way a DVD h/u would stop film playback as soon as the car is moving. But in all honesty I highly doubt it's that.
Wedge75
Got the wires running down the centre under the plastics mate and will do in day light as only got an iPad ATM so pictures are rap in the dark
Pete
Your handbrake mechanism isn't catching on the wiring is it?
Pete91
Would need to be a break in the cable for it to e earthing on the hand brake though...
Pete
Stranger things have happened!! I still reckon it's summat dodgy from the h/u, but without seeing and having a fiddle myself its almost impossible to say anything for sure. Pete91
Tbh that's what it sounds like to me but I'd just be surprised if it happened lol
Wedge75
There's defiantly no break or catching of the cable from the handbrake because I pulled the wires from any wear near the thing and I've checked the whole lengths of wires but tomorrow I will just rewire the RCA and output wires with a new set aswel
