VWFTW
Hi CL,Got a set of OZ turbos..8j Fronts and 8.5 Rears..I'm after a set of tyres for the fronts, what would people recommend to get?Currently on 195/45/15.. But they sit out of my arches! So I need either smaller tyres or flared arches?Else I might have to sell the wheels! I'm thinking 175/50/15 Kumho's or 185/45/15 Nankangs..Heard some many bad reviews on Nankangs though! Cheers
scotty_82
Are your arches rolled ?
Thooooom
185/45 nankangs sit nice on an 8" i think.but if youre struggling with clearance now 10mm isnt much at all. Edited August 14, 2012 by Thooooom

JoshLoop
Can fit 165/50 to them aswell. Carl's red lupo gti had 165/50 on the 8 and 8.5j wheels
VWFTW
Cheers for the feedback.. Been looking at tyrestretch.com to give me some idea on how they would look! I think I might go for 185/45 Nankangs.. I think the clearance would be better than 175/50.. And yeah of course my arches are rolled! haha

Lermy
i ended up having to put 165 50's on my 8's as there just wasnt enough stretch on 185 45 nankangs

Looked at Bridgestone Potenza's 165/50.. And looked rather a skinny tyre to fit onto an 8j! Just worried about getting a blow out or anything! :/ how are you finding them? Philplop
I ran 165/50's on an 8" for ages, they were fine. But I probably wouldn't do it again. Too much stretch. Better off getting your arches flared a bit if necessary.
