Gareth1 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Share Posted April 15, 2005 style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Have been havin trouble wiv clutch recently not engaging, had it adjusted all fine style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Then started again last nite, driving today to reputable vw specialist, wen ? no clutch... wait for the nice AA man, who tells me its not the clutch its the ....Pedal housing is all broken up ! happy cos thort clutch be expensive, but now realise this could be a pig of a job :cry: Any one els heard of this prob? Spoke to the garage guy wh said he had to do one on a vw van recently and welded it so hes gona have a look at welding if he can. This is a VERY common fault on Sports, as yet no one has heard of it happening to a GTI..... apprently they are tougher.VW should really recall the Sports and fit GTI pedal boxes... Gareth1 Posted April 15, 2005 Author Report Share Posted April 15, 2005 Its called allterain, their a landrover specialist, but do all types of work know a couple of people that have had work done their before, fingers crossed they dont get burnt.Apart from vw stealer heritage dont know of any vw specialists in weston and had to get car towed sumwhere.If id been near work theirs a vw audi place next door! Gareth1 Posted April 16, 2005 Author Report Share Posted April 16, 2005 Fingers v burnt ifear, couldnt weld box which i beleive cos saw it before they got hold of it pretty unweldable, but charged me 4 hrs labour? ! 190 quid ! I know what i'll be sorting this week.Had it adjusted once. some happy motoring, adjusted 2nd time just under 600 miles out of it.Then bite point slipped to floor third time, made a slight adjustment and then 4 miles down the line.....Crack. its gone.
