montythemole
Just rang up the local specialist for a quote on window tinting. £40 for the QTRs and £80 for the rear so £160 plus VAT (£188). Is this a fair quote? How easy is a DIY job? I've seen some shockers in the past but never sure if that's due to the quality of the kit or the quality of the install. Tigz™
Its down to the instalation.I think I paid £160 for all my windows done, but they did a poor job.The rears are pretty straight forward, the back window do take some skill.Try and see if you can look at the past work, I wish Id done that before giving them my car. lupo_gaz
i've done it in the past just need a heat gun.(but not mine yet).. i can do the back window in one piece and not split like some do.
montythemole
A heat gun, presumably to stretch the film right? I've read a couple of fitting guides before and they recommend a light water spray on the glass first to help remove bubbles, wouldn't these two techniques conflict a bit? SiDaBa
If your interested, on www.`uk-polos`.net or www.`uk-mkivs`.net there is a guy called "tinter". I got my gf's lupo tinted with him. cost £150 for rear and side windows (including front drivers and passengers). At the end of the day it depends on where you are and your circumstances if you want to get it done with this guy.Oh and you'll find all relevant info in "Group Buys" on both forums. Snoopy
QUOTE(Ty)Im considerin tintin my windows wot do ppl think of gettin it done a silver loop?Well I like how it looks, but then that's why I did it to mine! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />Cost me 280 quid for all five windows, but I made sure I found someone who would do an `top-quality` job, and it really was virtually perfect.Just got the rear window of my new car today done by the same guy, only cost 35 quid and took him 15 minutes! But then it is the size of a postage stamp
lunalupi
mmmmmm, tasty looking Snoop style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Like the look of the dark tints on a silver car. Also really want to do that to the Black Arosa when I get it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />All of you, stop tempting me to spend more money on the car I don't even own yet! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
