Bickerton
Either a small common leak from the rocker cover or you have had a catastrophic engine failure, the next few days will decide which of is, would personally go with the first one tho
Rich
I'd be tempted to say the rocker cover.Absolute arse of a job to do as well.
Bickerton
Depends, can leave in situ and get a bit pokey pokey with some copper gasket seal.
veedubs!
i have got my engine in bits, i have just new piston rings in and i was cleaning the head to bolt back on and i was just wondering thank you guys spot on!
Rich
Use geniune, I repeat genuine VW sump sealer to seal it.Anything else and you risk oil contamination.
Bickerton
Yeah if split, just clean it off and gasket seal it, do a bead , do bolts up a little bit tight, leave a few hours and tighten em up properly
