Slow acceleration on lupo gti

so, the car is a 6 speed gearbox with 140k km on clock, the clutch is new and has 17k km. the service has been done last week (oil, air filter, oil filter). i've done a remap this winter from tcm turbo and they siad the gain is about 10 hp and 15nm. couldn't get 0-100 km/h from standstill less than 9.9 sec. and i've tried several times with and whithout esp. the road wasn't slippy or anything else. and i've got my ass kicked by a a3 1.9tdi 170bhp :)). i'm running on 15" dunlop sp sport 01 205/50/r15.

could the flywheel be the problem or anything else?

thanks.

Tires should be either 205/45/15 or 195/50/15

Even then something is a miss...

Have you checked engine code? Should have avy on a sticker on cambelt cover... Probably stamped on the block too

Get it scanned

Whatever happens your going to be beaten by a 170bhp a3, torque wins races and all that!

That said, 9.9 seconds is way off, like Jase said, your tyres are too big, increasing rolling radius and rotational weight, which makes a big difference!

the engine is the avy one.. i think 2 that the tyres are too big, guess i'l be going on some 14" :D thinking on getting the kamracing de-cat manifold http://www.kamracing.co.uk/volkswagen/vw-lupo/exhaust/exhaust-manifold/vw-lupo-1-6-16v-gti-kam-racing-manifold-cat-pipe.html

any noticeably gain as they say?

i've maxxed it out several times in the straight line and as said, couldn't get lower than 9.9.

esp was fitted to euro spec cars, not UK spec.

Not sure if 14's will clear your brakes, might be worth borrowing some to see before going out and buying some.

Yes you'll keep up with a 170tdi

My friend has an ibiza remapped to 170 old pd unit

As standard he pulled away slightly

Then i fitted enclosed induction and cat back bastuck and i can run with him neck and neck no problem... Quicker off the line too

I beg to differ. I'd be extremely shocked if you got anywhere near my diesel.

Trust me you will

Ive had 3 pd130's in different stages of tune

Standard

Remapped to 173bhp

Hybrid 220bhp

Hybrid vnt 20 267bhp

Will beat a standard one and run with a mapped un :)

guys, i sincerelly thank you for your reply's.. for the moment i'm in a vacation with another car..

mini-man-dan @ the remap is for a standard lupo gti..

RobG @ i have 14" winter wheels already, just they are winter tyres..

Defcon5 @ i haven't but damn i will do it next week :D just to see my real specs :)

Lal B3N @ i have timed me with my phone and my watch ( a casio one). let's say that i may had some slipping at start, but not so much :)

i was shocked to see how much distance when he got on 2nd and 3rd, comparable tho the 2.2 170bhp bmw 320 which i owned very easily :)

thanks again for your replies even if i'm not from uk:P.

i was thinking that the engine may have bad compression, as i am the third owner of the car :) but at 140k km...donno..i'l post back the results from the dyno..some friends told me that the revo remap is way better than the tcm turbo..

for some videos, check my videos (hope i won't get banned :)) ) : http://www.youtube.com/user/razerman4ever?feature=mhee#p/a/u/1/UqQN8ZeX9Fw
