My cars for driving

Really?

Fairy liquid is a degreaser and will strip your car back to having no wax protection etc on your car which opens it up to the elements such as rain/salt.

Washing-up liquid is a powerful cleaner and degreaser, but the problem with it is that it contains Sodium Chloride (salt) which is used to add to the viscosity. It may also contain amonia.

Salt makes water a better conductor of electricity and because the process of oxidization is an electrical process, the addition of salt to your car’s bodywork speeds up this process. Oxidization is bad for both your paintwork and metalwork.

Because washing up liquid is such a powerful de greaser, it will strip all the wax from your car, it may also make your paintwork dry and brittle and prone to chipping and even cracking.

I bet fairy liquid is more expensive than a bottle of car shampoo as well.

Thanks buddy :). I love my Yeti's. I have to fill my Grit Guard buckets (both wash and rinse) to the brim when doing a car as they are so thirsty. But they are great. An alternative worth trying is the Swissvax Waschpudel, also very good, and about £9 a go.

I am fully mobile but after my travel costs have been factored in it might not be cost effective. Have a look at my traders thread showing estimated prices and if interested drop me a PM.

totally agree with this ashley since having my car painted ive really been bitten by the detailing bug i spent 2 hours today on elite spending rather more than i should, but received a nice little discount, it seems ive learned more in 2 months than i have in 10 years of owning the car and wont be going back to my slap dash ways its drying towels, microfibre and the correct wash method for me from now on, i just want to start experimenting with new products from now on, im eager to try some of the chemical guys and raceglaze products and try to settle on something im happy with rather than the mundane AG & megs products. a quick question also what are you guys using to carry your drying towels and microfibres in? i have a AG lifeshine case which i carry my products in but its nowhere near enough for anything else cheers carl
