Mike_M Posted April 21, 2011 Report Share Posted April 21, 2011 Sounds like the drum brake is siezed on and you notice it when you come off the power to engage a gear........hence the pressing of the clutch.Take drum off and inspect the mech and drum brakes.........quite common to have a sticking rear drumAlso check the handbrake is full dis-engaged! Mike_M Posted April 21, 2011 Report Share Posted April 21, 2011 LOLIn that case possibly your pedal box has broken at the welds (common on non GTI's), and when pushing on the clutch.......the frame is bending and in turn pushing the attached brake pedal down.........enough to activate the brake light switch. bennyboi Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Share Posted April 21, 2011 Earthing was my bet gunna get the meter on them tomorrow, I got a recipt for the pedal box being done before I got it, although I do have a VERY sqeeky brake pedal that I cant seem to cure could it go again?
