Defcon5
Never even heard of one for sale tbh. Have you done any other mods? Seems a strange place to start

Cooper_GTI
Then stroke the GTI lump to a 1.8! That'd be brilliant! Imagine the torque in a little Lupo!
Defcon5
Then stroke the GTI lump to a 1.8! That'd be brilliant! Imagine the torque in a little Lupo! Wont you have to run at reduced RPM though stroking it?
99hjhm
Wont you have to run at reduced RPM though stroking it?It would be less revy.Massive amount of work involved in stroking an engine, offset regrind on the crank, new conrods, new big end shells. nfbr
4.2 V8 from an Audi RS4 will fit under the bonnet without many modifications. Would you believe it the RS4 uses the same engine mounts as the 1.0e Too so you won't need to do any fabrication.

nfbr
I'm not sure. It should do. If not you'll be able to get an adaptor sleeve... I've spoken with a few tuning companies today and they reckon the 1.0 ECU should be fine with the RS4 motor too, it'll just need an extra one (i.e. Two banks of pistons, Two ECU's)
