`PAFC-BUCKY`
My "better half's" Seat Arosa (W reg) is due for its 40,000 mile service. She rang the local Seat dealer to get a quote and once she gotten back off the floor she told be it would cost £230!!! She was told that it was a major service and that they would explain once she delivered the car what was to be done. But can anyone shed some light as to what needs to be done to cost so much? As the car is out of warrenty we have asked a local garage for a quote as well - getting back to us later today.I have a ZR160 and the most I need to pay for a service is around £170.many thanks
Tigz™
They check the spark plugs (you can tell them to not check these)They check the fluid levels (again, no need for them to do)Just tell them you want the minum 40k service.I think LinconshireLupoGTi knocked £100 (ish) off the price of his 40k service doing this. bossjohnc
Brake fluid change is usually also done at 40k (it's every 20k)
Crusoe
servicing costs over 3 years (36000 miles)for a 1.4 lupo is quoted as £572, the MG ZR160 didn't have any figures but my Ibiza Cupra is quoted as £952 over the same period so it seems reasonable. Lupo gti is £871. You'll find the service details and pence per mile etc. under the car specification at www.watcar.co.uk.

mattie
don't go to Seat! i would go to my local garage or some place like `Quick-fit` as iv just had my 20K done by Seat and they charged me for things like screen wash even when my tank was full! i had to give it to Seat this time as the warranty work can only be done by them, am sure all car garages are like this however. Crusoe
if they topped it up but couldn't put in a whole bottle of screen was they usually leave the rest in the car for you, can ask them not to fill it up if you want though. Can also bring allong your won oil and they will use that, can make it a lot cheaper for just oil change services.
