JoshLoop
Was trying to wind the fronts down and my drivers side wont budge. Ive unscrewed the little grub screw, its loose but the actual adjuster wont budge up or down, the coilovers are clean. Dunno what it can be?! Passenger side moves freely even though the grub screw hadnt been unscrewed..Any help with this? nfbr
Have you jacked the car up so the wheel is off the ground? If the car is still on the ground the weight pushing on the spring will make it much more difficult to turn the adjusters.Try soaking the thread around the adjuster in penetrating fluid over night and try again the next day. JoshLoop
Aye the car was jacked right up and the wheel was off. Ill try that, hope its not a thread or something thats knackered.
Defcon5
Have they been fitted for a while? They will seize up - as nfbr says, some Plusgas or something will shift it
JoshLoop
Yeah sure they got fitted in 2006, but only been used in summer, kept immaculate etc. When i tried to move it moved less than 1/4 of a turn then stopped. Will get some plusgas or that and try it!
nfbr
Hmm, Could be cross threaded. Are they the Oldskool KW's with the metal adjusters or the Newer type with the 'Nylon' adjusters?
JoshLoop
They are the nylon adjusters!
Defcon5
Move it back up, clean the thread and WD40 it, then try again. If it still wont work it could be on wrong - although if you managed to adjust it when you fitted them it cant be that bad. Were the two rings perfectly aligned? If there was a gap after you fitted them then they could have been forced over the threads over time I suppose
JoshLoop
I tried to move it back but its stuck where it is! I just got the car last month but i think theyve been there since they were put on. Cant remember if the adjuster was level, never payed attention
99hjhm
They stainless bodied V1's? The nylon shouldn't seize, so probably just crap on the threads.
JoshLoop
Aye theyre the inox line ones! Hopefully its something minor and not a ruined thread. Cant be bothered with the mucking around replacing bits!!
