ArosaPD
Yeah, much as already mentioned. I also bought Quantum oil from German,Swedish & French (GSF) for about £24.00 for a 5 Litre can, (dealer wanted about £10.00 a litre). It is of `5W-40` viscosity but more importantly it conforms to VW 505.01 specifications. This is supposed to be the only oil that you put into your PD engine, but then again dealers state that you should only ever use their screen wash too!!!Time to make your decision, hope this helps. BTW none of the more common oils that you see in Halfords, (e.g. Castrol) conform to the VW505.01 Specification, not even the synthetic ones.
Crusoe
mine takes even thinner stuff, PD oil for mine is `5-30` worth checking your manual.
