My friend is purchasing a 1.4TD sport and is very worried, as he is finding difficulties to find an exhaust system/backbox for the model? and an induction kit, he would love the BMC, but is that availiable for the 1.4TD? Could any of you guys help my friend in need, and also give some more tips on anything else he could do for his 1.4TD. Thanks smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Hi Mike

My 2001 Arosa TDi runs a K&N filter in the original airbox and a Sebring back box. I just checked with www.motorsportworld.co.uk/ and this also fits the Lupo TDi, it costs £194.23 (Part No.`SB-999043`-4). If he gets the K&N make sure he gets the right one, mine is cylindrical in shape and not flat.

I have recently fitted Eibach sports springs and Kayaba gas shocks. I didn't want anything too severe as I use the car to commute to work and have to travel over several bumpy roads, I feel it's a nice compromise.

Also fitted Recaro seats out of an Escort RS Turbo, had windows tinted and run 15" BSA alloys.

There is so much for him to spend his money on!!! Mine goes to Allard Engineering soon for Chip, bigger intercooler and modification to the manifold.

Hope this helps.

Mark

i found a loss of power with an induction kit on my tdi, the air flow is already as good as it will get with the standard air box on and runs just right, i cant see any harm in fitting a pannel filter to the original air box tho.

Go for the Revo software!!!

Forget all the exhaust/induction **** - why bother when you can get 30bhp increase & 40% torque for the same cash?!

Subtlety is key.

For once I agree with Zippy, chip it! biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Then lower it and then keep it like that, induction kits don't really work well for diesels (unless its NOS like P88bels!)

and u can get away with telling mr. incurance man about a chip as they are invbisible!

Depends how big an accident you cause - big nuff and it is going to be discovered, you may count on that:)

The last tiem I checked K&N didn't have a replacement filter elements for 1.4TDi engine.

BMC do them and they seem to be of better pedigree than K&N imho.

`Re-mapping` is he best value for money imaginable - should be the first mod on every TDi owner's list biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

The second one (or first if £££ are not there) would be to go for Eibach springs and ARBs.

Exhaust is not worth doing at all unless you want ot install NoS or other mods like bigger injectors and custom made charge cooling system
