  1. If your wanting to go for a good SPL set up, id recommend you either go for an RE SX12 or SX10 . . . throw it in a ported enclosure and you'll be laughing style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> . . . a friend of mine has just baught the 10 and put it in his Mini & it's unbeleivble - ive heard enough 'bling bling' 15" Subs e.g. Audiobahn, lanzar e.t.c and they sounded so distorted and cack compared to a nicely set up R.E. which dropped as low as Ron Jeremy style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Michael
  2. Why don't you go for one 10" sub and a 2 channel amp? Ive just ordered mine and i cant wait for them to come style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> . . . . consists of: Sub - Crystal Comp10 Amp - Crystal CAM 300.2 Wiring - KnuKonceptz 4awg All from Blade, great help from Am. I got a very good deal out of him (top guy) give him a call and he might be able to sort you out. Michael.
  3. Anyone heard of their equipment, ive been offered one of their 12" subs for £250 (usually £300) . . . want to know of their rep. All i know atm is Eton designed and built the hexacone technology used by Diamond Audio in their HEX series of subs, hence the name style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> . . . . im still wanting my Crystal though!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  4. How much do you think he will do the wiring? plus rca cable
  5. Im very happy with purchase, so my set up is going to look like this: Headunit - Alpine CDA 9853R Plus ipod convertor Sub - Crystal Comp 12 in a sealed enclosure Amp - MTX Thunder 942 Wiring - Street Wires 4awg kit Front Comps and 4channel in the near future Fingers crossed it all goes well.
  6. Is a monoblock usually better to power a sub tigz or will that 2 channel mtx be a very good amp for me?! ive spoke to the guy and we have finalised a deal, going to get the amp in the week, just wanted to make sure of all my options before going ahead.
  7. It's mikebob21@hotmail.com . . . though tigz, remember im going for SQL over total banging heads sound production, will 700 be too much? thanks again tigz, ill keep you updated with the install!
  8. Very good find there tigz, im going to buy that amp for sure!! thanks for the help! just the sub im going to hum over . . . is the crystal the best out there for the money? BTW Tigz, the COMP says it runs at 500rms, and the amp is rated at 700?! you sure thats ok? Also tigz, im trying to get in touch with that guy, but i cannot sign up to that forum for some reason, i really dont want that amp to go, can you get in touch with him for me?! will be much appreciated
  9. Thing is tigz, it's for my seat ibiza, sis has got the Lupo now. And i only have around £560 max for everything e.g. wires, enclosure, dynamat and labour costs. Any other suggestions . . . cheers
  10. i guess you don't know much about genesis ice then lol style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> no worries
  11. Hi guys, im in the procedure of purchasing a Sub & Amp for my first install. I was thinking of: Sub - 12" JLW3v2 Amp - MTX MXA 4004 Or JLe1400 I have had a quote from a local car audio specialist to fit the JL Sub, MTX amp, dynamat trunk kit, Good quality street wires, sealed enclosed box and all for £580 - ive already got my headunit, which is the Alpine CDA-9853R. Wanted to know what you guys thought of this set up, im going for overall sound quality other than SPL, other subs i was thinking was the Genesis Audophile 12" and RE SE12v4 Open to all suggestions, thanks guys. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  12. Hi guys, well i was planning to purchase a Becker Monza or Mexico Pro, but it all added up and became quite expensive: Becker Monza - £200 or Becker Mexico Pro £270 Ipod kit for becker - £75 Stalk Controls for becker and seat ibiza £100 - so as you can see guys, this option would be well over £300 ++++ So now im very, very confused of what headunit to go for?! im looking for something to go with my ibiza dashboard which is illuminated red. And that will connect up to an ipod convertor. Looking to spend around £300 max for headunit and ipod convertor. Was thinking of the Alpine headunit with the glideface ---> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...6ed385bd63e15a8 . . . but heard it's poorly built, and another option is the Pioneer ---> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...6ed385bd63e15a8 and lastly there is a good deal on a Blaupunkt ---> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...6ed385bd63e15a8 . . . but i dont know what Blaupunkt headunits are like? any suggestions guy's. This is my xmas pressie and i want it to be a guden!!! thanks.
  13. Ye and thats what im wanting, i think im going to have to find the 'proper' Becker to I-pod convertor. I want my ipod to be hidden, behind the dash or in the glovebox. Im going to email becker and see what they have to offer. cheers for your help guys.
  14. Cheers andy, definately going for the Becker, very OEM looking, im just trying to find an i-pod link, plus the radio interface for steering controls for the becker unit, it would be soo much easier to buy the Pioneer lol
  15. Is their difference in sound quality over the monza or mexico pro, and what i-pod connection should i opt for?!
