PseudoPrawn
Hey, I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to this sort of thing!I was just wondering if it was possible to paint the black plastic bits on the bottoms of the standard front and rear bumpers and the grill, to match body colour? How difficult would it be/approx cost?Cheers
.Phase
you just need to sand, primer and spray (colour + lacquer)it's pretty easy if you're patient & careful£5each item ? maybe 2 spray cans of body colour
PseudoPrawn
Ahh, nice and simple then! Where can I get some decent primer and spray paint?
lupohillman
Most automotive shops will sell them. Wilco, halfrauds ect. If your unsure just ask an assistant in the shop and they will be happy to help you.
Philplop
For the lower bumpers you'll need plastic primer, and maybe filler primer. Just noticed the other day the halfords have started doing plastic filler primer, so you'll kill two birds with one stone. I would say though, that if it's your first time painting things I wouldn't try your bodywork yet, practice on something else as there's quite a knack to it. Or go to a body shop and ask for a price. Besides that, they look better black, IMO.
PseudoPrawn
Okay, cheers guys Not sure about them being better black, think it'll look tidier all body colour, I'll check out some quotes anyway!
VW_LUPO 1
are you positive that the spray can will be the best idea. Might not match and may cause problems. If i was you i wouldnt use spray cans
Revo
My honest opinion. Do it once and do it right - bodyshop is your best bet.
