niallod Posted April 18, 2010 Report Share Posted April 18, 2010 ok. after a short trip i stoped and left my lupoon returing i was greated with no engine turnover at alljust turned ignition on and al was ok but the engine wouldnt even attempt to turn over with the key.its not a problem with the starter though as it can be jumpstarted anyone know what this coulkd be???thanks niall Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

luckyluke Posted April 19, 2010 Report Share Posted April 19, 2010 Could be the ignition switch itself, do all the lights come on on the dash when you turn the key? If they do turn the ignition on (as though you were going to start the car). Then using an insulated screwdriver bridge the terminals on the starter motor (big live cable to the earth) if the car fires up you'll know its the ignition switch knackered. grayg40 Posted April 26, 2010 Report Share Posted April 26, 2010 sounds like the switch to me,sorry to hijack the thread but mine does the same sort off.turn the key to get the pump to prime everything good all lights on then sometimes when you turn further the lights all go off on the dash. would this also be the switch?
