willh
FINALLY got my rims over from Germany on Friday, so rushed and got the tyres on yesterday - we ended up getting one of the fitters standing on top of the rim, on top of the tyre fitting machine to stretch the tyres down over them!Lupo Soprt 1.4 16v 100bhpBBS RM 15" splits - 7.5"f and 8"r with 195/45 Dunlop 2040's all roundFuntech coilovers - still changing heights with new rims fittedK+N 57i induction kitMattig grill and insertPanasonic MP3/WMA headunitMacAudio MacAttack 350rms ampInfinity Perfect 12 sub - sealed boxSmoked rear clustersSmoked indicators`De-badged` f+rSide strips removedThose of you at the recent Scottish meet will have seen the car on the standard rims a few weeks ago, here's some updated images:Still got lots to do, but that'll have to wait till I find some more money!Cheers,Will

willh
Yeah the BBS were my total top choice - just got lucky on Ebay from a German guy. They are too wide for the body tho - will need to pick it up for the next few weeks til I can get the arches sorted.FYI - The BBS RM's were ET33 in standard fit (6.5x15), and these have the extra dishes to make them 7.5 and 8 wide. The fronts seem ok so far, but it looks like the rears will need some work.Just to help for us `non-gti` owners with baby arches!

willh
They were from Farmer Autocare, and meant to be 70 each fitted but they gave me a tenner off so £270 all in.They were really sound actually and said they'd try to fit anything. Every other place I tried just laughed at me!

smerko
how are the indicator lenses smoked? was it a diy job or can you buy them?

willh
They were just sprayed with VW black paint in my room.A proper DIY job, but if you use lots of very fine layers you can get them progressively darker but not too dark that they dont work. They're fine at night and I've never had any beef off the police.
Loopy Lupo
sweet motor mate - lovin those rims, may i enquire as to how much they were - are they new or second hand?

willh
I got them off Ebay - £550 including postage without tyres.Unfortunately I've just found out that the new deep outers haven't been put on right and are leaking air, so will need to get them refurbed - old wheels now back on! willh
They're actually the same dimensions as Clifford's (blackrat) GTI in last months PVW.I think he's had some arch work done, but I reckon I'll need a fair bit sorted to run the car as low as it was on standards. Blackrat
mmm loving them style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> i am gonna try out 8 inch dishes on the front as i have some spare, i need to have my rear arches done as they catch, specially with five people in the carmy ET is 25mm , so they stick out a tad more , i think ? willh
I think they're the same - my et was 33 in their 6.5 standard width, so with the dish they are around 25 now as well.I just need to find a decent refurb company to take them apart and replace the gasket thing - can't believe they're leaking air!
