Jonny GTi
I'm wondering how to remove the engine cover on my GTI? Is it just pushed on or are there any screws clips etc? Being a technician for BMW i feel stupid asking but they are like fort knox to take apart. Also, my GTI is a 2005, so which badging should be fitted to the engine cover? Many thanks, Jon. pro3mark
I believe they all say the same 'GTI 1.6' and the front are on little rubber holders, just pull off.The rear is clipped around a hose so make sure than comes off cleanly, as well as pulling the hose off the front. 99hjhm
I think later ones say that.Mine (2002) has 1.6 16V I think. Look at my sig.just pull up from the front then slide off forward, carefull thought as Mark said.
Jonny GTi
Thanks very much for the info. The VW badge on mine is black and silver, does this seem to be the norm?

Jonny GTi
Maybe later cars got the black badge and GTI. My mums 02 polo had a blue and white steering wheel badge but her 05 had a black and chrome.
