  1. Scirocco was called Iroc so i'd guess the UP will become LUPO. Seems a shame cos a Lupo is a Lupo and shouldn't have the named put on anything else.
  2. I see yours almost everyday, This was a 51 plate i think, and had german pressed plates.
  3. I was ahead of you in my silver gti.
  4. Cheers, was just a bit worried. I'll just ignore it from now on.
  5. Hi, i have a 2005 lupo GTi, whilst turning the car off, the engine over-runs. This literally lasts for quarter of a second, but its really lumpy when shutting off. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks.
  6. You can't fit a CSL ram intake because of the huge electronic flap inside which needs a feed from the DME via the throttle pedal. Cracking cars though, better to drive than an E92.

    Gti Exhaust

Got my Janspeed tonight, 3 inch is now standard for them cos the 3.5 are too big. Sounds brilliant, looks superb, but what a horror to fit! I'm a BMW tech, so i come across some awkward exhausts, but this thing needed some serious DIY to fit.
  8. I work for BMW, and to be honest i prefer driving my Lupo GTi to a Cooper S and can probably do cross country driving faster. They are so thirsty, 25mpg is about average, and the reliability is hideous. You think Lupo's have gearbox issues? As far as a Civic goes, i sold a Civic Type S 1.8 last August for my current Ford Focus Zetec S, i would never buy another Honda product. The build quality was appauling, and dealer service wasn't up to much either. I later found i was not alone in owning an unreliable Honda, all Civic's appear to be the same. VAG all the way!
  9. A friendly parts person, pffft that would be a laugh.
  10. They said re-spraying it would not work, it'll come straight back. And as its corroding from the inside out over, its covered by the 12 year warranty.
  11. Just to let you all know that I have had my spoiler replaced under warranty due to the usual bubbles in the paint. Lookers VW Northallerton are fitting it next week, trying to squeeze for a high level brake light to!
  12. I was quoted £38 trade from Lookers in Middlesbrough. If they take as long as my keyring, they'll have stopped making before you get them!
  13. Right well i'll try and get along about 8 to Teesside Park. I'll be in the 05 Silver GTi with a newly fitted exhaust. See you all there.
  14. What time do you reckon you'll be at Teesside park for? I'll go there as i don't finish work till late on.
  15. Just wondered if my old Arosa is still on the road and anyone on here own it? This was my second car after my 1.0se lupo, and i loved it but the lure of a new Mini from work tempted me to sell it. Bad move really, but i'd love to know where it is these days. Many thanks, Jon.
  16. If i were you i'd be glad its a 184bhp model. The later engine (M57TU) had swirl flaps in the inlet manifold, which just fall off and straight into the engine. We must do an engine a month for that fault at work, worst design BMW have ever done. Top car, last of the proper beemers!
  17. I'd be well up for this to, never been to a car meet before and it'd be great to see some other lupo's
  18. Saw you driving towards Redcar on the A66 just past Corus. I was in my girlfriends sportka.
  19. Saw a Y plate silver GTI at Levington Mews, Kirklevington.
  20. Thanks everyone, i was just concerned that it wasn't original because i want it to be totally standard.
  21. Maybe later cars got the black badge and GTI. My mums 02 polo had a blue and white steering wheel badge but her 05 had a black and chrome.
  22. I've found a picture of a 54 reg one with a black and chrome badge with just a GTI badge. Thanks
  23. Thanks very much for the info. The VW badge on mine is black and silver, does this seem to be the norm?
  24. I'm wondering how to remove the engine cover on my GTI? Is it just pushed on or are there any screws clips etc? Being a technician for BMW i feel stupid asking but they are like fort knox to take apart. Also, my GTI is a 2005, so which badging should be fitted to the engine cover? Many thanks, Jon.
  25. Yeah i live in Yarm so i'm always out and about. Its totally standard at the moment, all its going to get is a red grill trim. I'll look out for you.
