JB1.0e Posted November 30, 2009 Report Share Posted November 30, 2009 I spend a lot of time in hotels at the moment, they all have WiFi but the signal strength is weaker in some rooms (The hotel is an old country house and some of the rooms are quite a way from the reception). I heard that you can buy an antenna that is more powerful than the built in receiver. Is there anything I should look for when choosing one or does anyone have a recommendation? RobG Posted November 30, 2009 Report Share Posted November 30, 2009 If your laptop has a built in wireless card, you'll probably need to turn that off and get yourself a pcmcia/usb one with an external aerial.You can also make a booster aerial out of a pringles can and soem bits of wire...
