2001gti Posted November 26, 2009 Report Share Posted November 26, 2009 (edited) A friend of mine has a 318i and when she is going around corners she hears a knocking noise from the rear, alomost like somthing is sliding around in the boot. sounds to me like the diff. 1 Litre Screamer Posted November 26, 2009 Report Share Posted November 26, 2009 BMW's are well known for eating the rear trailing arm bushes. If you look under the car you will see the arm the comes from under the backseat to the lower wishbone assembly. Where this arm comes out of the chassis under the seat is a bush that always fails.
