LupoGti123
Evening all Just wondered if anyone can help me. I'd like to check out a cars history, mainly the mileage and owners. As far as I can find the only way of doing this properly, unless you know someone on the inside at the DVLA, is to do a HPI check which costs 20 quid. Can any of you CL brainiacs help?Cheers,Chris
MattTDI
text the reg to 86007 costs 3 quid. get 2 texts, tells you everyhting, including power figures!
Alex_225
You shouldn't have to pay £20 for an HPI check mate, I did one online when I bought my Loop and it was about £5. Well worth the cash IMO.
Rattic
Depends what ur after as to what u pay. The text number www.carspotter.co.uk, does not provide you with mileage. I paid 20 quid cos I thought it was worth it. I also used this comparison chart to see what I was getting: http://www.netcar.co.uk/comparehpichecks.php
LupoGti123
text the reg to 86007 costs 3 quid. get 2 texts, tells you everyhting, including power figures! It's the mileage that's the key piece of info for me. I need to know the car hasn't been clocked. Does the 3 quid include what mileage the car should be on roughly?
matt~black
well if it was clocked properly before every mot then that wouldn't shed any light on it
Defcon5
IF you know the doc number on the V5 and the reg you can check the MOTs online
pro3mark
As said above, the MOTs and services can be done, but TBH, if it's done properly, and before MOT's and services, you would not know. You'd have to be preety handly with a laptop and/or software to find out. What makes you think it's been clocked?Mark
