I bought a 450D as my starter, and its pretty damn good.

Jessops always have good deals going on.

I have the 400D and i cant fault it, one of my friends has the 450D and its basically the same bar the bigger screen which i'd find easier to use.

i hate using the 400d and 450d .... Once you have played with a 40D you will understand.. Pissin around with the screen for all your settings is a royal pain in the arse.. also no top LCD :( picking up my 50D next week birthday present to myself

The 40d is a very good camera, some people rate it over the 50d for image quality! My original plan was for a 5d mark 2, however due to the full in the £ it's put it out of my reach!

Canon have just put their prices up.... By alot ! 10-22mm lens is now £709.. used to be £500! Canon 50D just shot up by £150 too! Luckily I reserved mine at the airport so still get the kit for £936 not £1086 which is now the current price!

My 70-200 2.8 L IS has gone up from £1250 to £1720!
