minismood
Got a Lupo 3L TDI from year 2000. Only starts occasionally but when it does it runs smoothly but when I turn the engine off it won´t start again. I have to unlock the battery to get it to start again. It can start once when it has been cold for a while...What´s the problem? I´ve filled up the hydraulic oil so it isn´t that. Something with the clutch, the break-light-contact? Please help me :-)
Lee_
Unfortunately we don't get the Lupo 3L here in the uk so not many people know much about them.If the battery needs disconnecting in order to start it I would say it is something electrical, does the coolant temperature gauge work? liwi
could be the glowplug.
RAB
could be the glowplug. Yes, Liwi is probably correct. The 3L does not need (working) glowplugs above about 5degC so you would not have noticed anything until the weather got colder.Does the engine turn over when it will not start? If not it could be the diode pack on the starter motor - you will have to change the starter motor if it is.RAB Edited October 28, 2008 by RAB
