GTi Possible ABS Problem

Recommended Posts

I serviced the brakes, last month, changed pads and discs on all corners and then the fluid. Everything has been ok for the last month but this last week I have noticed the ABS kicking in when pulling up to a stop just with my foot slightly on the brakes example pulling up to junction.

It doesnt kick in under moderate braking when moving. I know there must be a fault as obviously the wheels are not braking traction. I wonder if there is a little bit of air in the system? Ow there is no ABS warning on ignition either so thats why I am confused. If it was the sensors the light would iluminate?

Any help appreciated.

I used to get this on our old VW LT35s.

We could never find the fault until we put the apprentice on the front bumper and heard the pump knocking slightly at slow speeds.

But obviously, Im not suggestion asking the girlfriend to sit on the bonnet..

Have you checked to make sure the air caps are correct for the sensors?

Not sure what you mean? I know the sensors have not been touched thats all and I never had this problem pre-brake change.?

What do I need to do to check the air caps on the sensors?

Thanks for the advice.
