That system looks superb john, going to be buying after pay day. how much do you think i would be looking at for getting it fitted. what have you done with the pipe coming off branch one and branch four? do you just grind them off and blank them off? take it you have to drill and tap a new hole for the exhaust sensor? thanks for your help on this john. ryan

Right had a look at the raceland manifold and it has two pipes coming of 2 of the branches I take it these are for sensors. But when I have looked in peoples build threads they have cut and welded them off I take it. ttadas i think. Casper : thoughs pics in your thread are brilliant just what I needed. Are there two sensor on the GTI manifold I know there is one pre cat but is there one further up? Think my plans are to heat the manifold up and bend the obstructing pipe and weld a support plate across the two branches to hold it in place. Rye

ok i understand what your saying its not just matching the head to the manifold its balenceing the pressures inside the head.. Probs best just to get the manifold welded and fitted at the same time. any of you guy now of anywhere resonable to get this done? I am in the north west preston. Probs best just asking you guy how much you think it would cost. Thanks for all you advice guys.

Cheers Tigz, So are you running no centre box just with a back box. I bet the low down torque will be able to be re-found after a remap though. So did you not weld the manifold or did you just bend it?

Right after some advice, I have been doing some research on this forum lately and been looking at trying to find ways to tweek my GTI. I am tempted by a Raceland Manifold but I have read some people on here have taken them off whats the reason for this? I understand that they have had poor manufacturing issue but for the money they dont seem to bad. I am planning on matching my exhaust ports on the head to the manifold has anyone seen any gains from this or do they just bolt them on? Am I right in thinking that its the exhaust ports that are the most restrictive on the AVY head. Would it be possible to match the manifold to the head in the car, or would the head have to be removed? Tie this down with a remap and it should be a bit nippier? Anyone done similar. Rye
  7. thanks a lot just what i needed. cheers. ryan
  8. Anyone used Awsome GTi then for having work done? How do they compare to dealer prices?
  9. Hi all, Been looking for ages for a good garage to take my car to for ages to get some things sorted.. Preferably a VAG Specialist as I would like them to run some diagnostics on the Brakes. I know there is a few dealers around preston/blackpool but I am not that impressed with the service I have had from the. I know of awsome but its a motorway trip away Any suggestions / recommendations appreciated. Ryan
  10. Not sure what you mean? I know the sensors have not been touched thats all and I never had this problem pre-brake change.? What do I need to do to check the air caps on the sensors? Thanks for the advice. Ryan
  11. I serviced the brakes, last month, changed pads and discs on all corners and then the fluid. Everything has been ok for the last month but this last week I have noticed the ABS kicking in when pulling up to a stop just with my foot slightly on the brakes example pulling up to junction. It doesnt kick in under moderate braking when moving. I know there must be a fault as obviously the wheels are not braking traction. I wonder if there is a little bit of air in the system? Ow there is no ABS warning on ignition either so thats why I am confused. If it was the sensors the light would iluminate? Any help appreciated. Ryan
  12. I have seen the motor on the drive looks very tidy. Just packing at the mo going on holiday to germany tomrow. Goin to the Germany GP so going on a little road trip. Carnt wait...
  13. Mr Mills, Hows it going I remember you saying you where thinking of getting a lupo/arosa when I first got my GTi. That las that has the silver GTi lives in slyne somwhere I have chatted to her a couple of times. Not living at bolton-le-sands anymore living in kirkham closer to work. Was putting far to many miles on the car coming from BLS every day. Hope your well. Ryan
  14. Gorgous car.. How did you get on with attaching the break hoses to the existing unions? I have have a set going to put them on when I change the pads/disks next. Also how are you planning on fitting the rear lines as I have heard that they dont fit with unions? I suppose final questions is have you noted the difference? Honestly say I havnt seen a paint work that looks in such good nick for a daily driver. Mines black so I have no chance but I do try lol.. Rye
  15. Checked all the drain holes was the first thing I thought it was.. When you say "there shouldnt be much water in there" doesnt the water from the window run down the door skin and out the holes at the bottom so there should be a fair amount well there was when I tried it with a jug. So there should be a plastic cover that goes over the top will have a look cheers guys. much appreciated. Rye
