mdubgti
ive had my eye the lupo now for a good year and a bit and its most DEFFINATLY the car i want to be in. but due to recently being disqualified i may have to settle for a polo 1.4 16v sport style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> simply for insurance purposes style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> any ideas on how to make some quick cash besides selling crack or my kidneys? RobinA3
i am guessing its the mk5 polo you are on about?or the mk6?
bossjohnc
Well, which do you value more? - don't forget you've got 2 kidneys!Just kidding... have you got a quote yet? GTi is only group 11 (I know that's higher than a polo or lupo sport but it's still less than a lot of people expect) - try Adrian Flux for insurance as they seem to be particularly good with the GTi. gargoil
Try admiral, get your dad as the policyholder and you asa named driver!
Tigzâ„¢
A GTi Lupo may be a GTi but it nly has two rear seats, so insurance can be cheeper than you'd expect.
gargoil
The 1.4 16v sport is as slow as a week in the jail with Crusoe as your cell mate!
mdubgti
uh i dont know what difference the mk 6 is to a mk 5 i was thinking the 100bhp mk5?
Tigzâ„¢
Why not get a Lupo Sport?Insurance wil be the same if not lower, same bhp more less weight. They are almost as fast as a GTi anyway.
EssexLoop
yeah i can back that up after my race with B Real at inters
Dave_M
I'd agree. Went in a GTI and didn't feel that much quicker than my old Lupo 16v. It's lighter than the Polo and has the center exhaust. get some deep dish alloys and you'll look the Daddy.
Tigzâ„¢
Max had a bit of a rcae on way home from Blackpool, and there wasnt much into between the GTi and the 75bhp 1.
Snoopy
QUOTE(Tigz)Max had a bit of a rcae on way home from Blackpool, and there wasnt much into between the GTi and the 75bhp 1.4I'd say there was about a Tigz's worth of power in it! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Tigzâ„¢
QUOTE(Snoopstah)I'd say there was about a Tigz's worth of power in it! That makes me worry about how little 50bhp really is.
mdubgti
yes i was thinking that too but i decided i prefer the shape of the polo 1.4 16v to the lupo 1.4 16v but obviously if i could i'd get a lupo gti. come december i will have a years no claims and at 19 i have a very big crash and a disqualification on my license its going to be hard to find a quote for around 2k style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Fran
why is the 100bhp lupo only group 6 then??
gargoil
QUOTE(Red Lup Gti)100 bhp polo is group 10 insurance!!!!!!!!!!Are you sure as the Polo GTI is a group 10, I thought it'd be a 6 or a 7!?

Snoopy
From the Association of British Insurers (who decide these things):Lupo 16v 100bhp: 6Lupo GTI 125bhp: 11Polo Mk5 16v 100bhp: 10Polo Mk5 GTI 125bhp:
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI
Haha.Polo Gti are a higher insurance group than the Lupo Gti, how strange. The Polo is soo much slower...Must be due to the "not so good" handling of the Polo that makes it a liability! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
Tigzâ„¢
Like I said earlier in the Thread. The Lupo only has 2 rear seats, so the insurance group is lower!I belive people think im a moron and ignore everything I have to say sometimes lol

bossjohnc
So the reason for the Polo's higher insurance group remains a mystery... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
Crusoe
Could be more to do with the registered capacity, the lupo being a 4 seater but the polo insured for 5.
gargoil
Why didn't anyone think of that earlier!? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
