L119 UPO
Can i use Mobil 1 0W-40 ? the PDF file on Opieoils says thats it is VW approved standard 502.00/505.00,503.01.But would that be the right Viscosity ?
lunalupi
Check you handbook, which will give you a VW approval number. It might also have a chart showing you the different grades to use in different conditions. Then you can get the right stuff
L119 UPO
Well by reading the manual it appears it can be used. but does that mean viscosity doesnt matter ?Ive heard that youll burn oil if you dont have the right viscosity, the manual doesnt specify on that tho so im still a little unsure. lunalupi
In my Arosa handbook it has a little chart that shows you the right grades to use depending on the conditions - so it has one for use as a general oil, then shows you what to change to if its very very very cold....I tend to use 10W40, but I've got a different engine to you
Mitchell
10 40 will be ok

L119 UPO
OK no worries ive found out that 0W-40 will be fine, actually better than 10W-40.Learned alot here, very good readhttp://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html
Petes 16V Sport
I use Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40. Personally I think its brilliant stuff.Mobil 1 won't be that bad either i'm sure.

It's just that 0W-40 will be pourable at a much lower temp.
