Fer
As per title....Experiences? General Advice? Tips? Prices paid etc? Thinking of flying over in the new year and picking myself up one... Thanks in advance,MattThe are MANY 3Ls in DenmarkThe weak spot is the gearbox's automatic equipment. Then again if you have a qualified garage it shouldn't be a problem. www.lupo3lklub.dk There is an English forum there alsoRegards Tommy Fer
RAB
As per title....Experiences? General Advice? Tips? Prices paid etc? Thinking of flying over in the new year and picking myself up one... Thanks in advance,MattI have imported two, one new from Holland (from Intercar) and one S/H from Germany. We also have am Audi A2 1,2Tdi which is also 3L. There are at least two other A2 1.2Tdi's in the UK and at least one other Lupo 3L. Try www.mobile.de for cars from Germany. Great cars, not many problems and spare parts are easily available although they usually have to come from Germany. The one I bought new cost about €10.600 tax free + £1100 VAT. Now on 133,000km.RAB

Go to:http://www.abi.org.uk/carinsurance/search.aspand enter 'Volkswagen' in the Manufacturer field and 'Lupo 3L' in the Model field.RAB
nuttinnew
RAB, slightly off topic but pics and spec of the A2 would be cool. I was vaguely aware they put that engine in it but I've no idea if it's an A2 in the same way a 3L is a Lupo.
cardaft
Yeah do you have any ics of your 3Ls together?I wasnt really aware of a 1.2 A2 until you posted, now that is interesting, id love one of those.Whats the spec like.Pictures please
RAB
RAB, slightly off topic but pics and spec of the A2 would be cool. I was vaguely aware they put that engine in it but I've no idea if it's an A2 in the same way a 3L is a Lupo. The spec is here: http://www.audiworld.com/news/01/A2TDI/content.shtmlhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/main.j....xml&page=1Apart from the badge on the hatch, it looks like any other A2. LHD only of course with tiptronic gearchange. Like later 3L's with the option of A/C, mine is actually a 3.2L. Performance is about the same as a Lupo 3L, as they weigh about the same but the A2 is much more comfortable on long journeys. When I registered the car at the local DVLA office, they didn't believe that Audi made such a fuel efficient car - zero VED!Will post some pics but the only way I seem to be able to do it is by uploading to my website!RAB Edited December 31, 2007 by RAB

RAB
What I would really like though is a 1L (282mpg):<div align="center"></div>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_1-litre_carhttp://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/-vw-...11-ar32507.htmlhttp://www.seriouswheels.com/cars/top-vw-1-liter-car.htmAlas, only in prototype form so far although VW's chairman (driving) thinks that something similar may appear in 2010/2011.RAB Edited December 31, 2007 by RAB
mik3y
how much would one like the red one cost in total?
RAB
how much would one like the red one cost in total? I paid about €10,600 for mine new in Holland, tax-free and then about £1100 VAT, in 2001. Not that expensive really. Had to change the headlights though, connect up the RHS rear foglight and modify the speedo to read MPH.By far the best place to find one now is here: http://www.mobile.de/home/securityAdvice.html?lang=enI found my second 3L and A2 here.RAB Edited December 31, 2007 by RAB

RAB
The links not working matey!Try this one: http://www.mobile.de/home/index.html#0Choose the 'Detailed Search' option, Enter 1.2tdi as the variant etcThis one looks very reasonable: http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/showDeta...mp;pageNumber=1I would stick to cars with dealers, as they should offer some sort of guarantee for the engine and gearbox. You also have limited options for payment - either cash or electronic transfer. For the latter, if you want to bring the car back with you, you will have to transfer the funds before you see the car!You will also have to arrange temporary plates and insurance for the journey home. The dealer should be able to do this. German law requires this, it is not an option.RAB Edited December 31, 2007 by RAB
cardaft
I thought you would have paid an awful lot more than that, although i didnt want to ask So you have 3 3Ls in total?
