kenzie
My loop is currently in bits in my mates garage, steering column out, clocks out, yep, youve guessed it, pedal box is gone. Didn't bother getting a price for a new one, my thoughts were if it's broke once it'll break again, so i'm going to take it into work tomorrow and weld it solid, that should sort it!! So i'm now stuck in the house with the dutch demanding custody of the remote so she can watch Emmerdale.... The joys! All going well loop will be back together tomorrow and it'll be back in action tomorrow night. Just out of interest, how much a a new pedal box?? lunalupi
Seem to remember a new pedal box is quite cheap - £30-40? Its the labour thats the killer....
kenzie
Mates rates are always good though. Plus after i've welded my existing one, it'll be stronger than a new one so it defo wont break again.
s3boy
is there any way of welding it before it is broken without taking the car apart?
one litre wonder ;)
i would foresee the soundproofing / carpeting catching fire and then it would be a pig to get the earth connection in + welder + your hands + you and a welding mask in the footwell

NOCK
Only thing is though, I read somewhere IIRC that by welding it, you run the risk of having your legs crushed in a head on collision. The pedal box was designed to do summet clever in a head on collision but as a bi-product ended up weaker; this is why it breaks.NOCK
