Al
Hello everyone,Just a quick question - are the mats in the rear of the GTi the ones with 'location' holes for the pins in the floor? I know the fronts are.CheersAl
bossjohnc
No holes on the rear mats, no.
Al
No holes on the rear mats, no.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Strange....Basically I picked the car up and someone had swipped the mats and they've ordered some in for me. The front has the location things as per all VW mat fitments and so does the rear??? All have the twist things on them as well so that they never pop off, unlike the Sport which just had push on ones. What on earth are the rear ones for? Grapo
My back mats have twisty location holes for locking the matt in place

bossjohnc
Ahh... they must have changed at the same time the poppy things changed to twisty things. In which case, you should get the later mat set which will come with location holes. lupogtiboy
you can buy the rear mat location pegs that screw into ur carpet from vw! Edited September 12, 2005 by lupogtiboy
Al
you can buy the rear mat location pegs that screw into ur carpet from vw!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>This would explain why I had four sets of plugs with the mats I bought for the Sport, although presumably as it was an earlier one would not have the holes in the rear for the plugs to go into. lupogtiboy
they shud have a screw thread on the bottom that you screw in to the carpet. they are not bound into the carpet like the front ones!

I did go out to the car to look the other day but was distracted by the button to turn the internal sensors off, at the time wondering what it was. Maybe it's a later model thing?? I'd not even heard of it before I spotted it and checked in the manual.
lupogtiboy
its listed on etka as having one, but it hasn't! mind you, gti's are listed on etka as having cambridge lamps from the factory, but they haven't!

Cambridge lights as standard would've been nice though, if not a lot more common than they are now.
