Purify
Hello friends. Recently we purchaced a Lupo 1.7sdi for my gf. We like it a lot! Great car for the city. 5 years the vehicle hasn't been driven and it came with a lot of small issues. Anyway, i learned about one of the Lupo's weakneses and one of them was the windows regulator mechanisms. They stopped working once we started driving the car. The motors tick so they should be working fine. So far i have been to three different mechanics. One said that he cleaned the motors but i need both mechanisms to be replaced. Another claims my right mechanism is fine but everything else is for replacement and the third mechanic claims she fixed my right mechanism by placing the motor differently. Right now both windows work but i am looking for replacements and if possible new. My question is this. Can someone tell me which aftermarket parts i can look for to be compatible with my oem number? Mine is 6x0959801A .This is for my right regulatol.Does "A" matter because i know there is also a 6x0959801B. Thank you in advance. mk2
Common problem... there's a "how-to". Ideally, you need the exact same motor because the splined shaft needs to be the same. Other models are bigger. Oh, and welcome to club lupo 👍🏻 Pics of car? Purify
Thank you very much and here it is! I plan on uploading a picture once i finish with everything i want to do on the car.
Purify
Thank's for the wellcome and for the help. I actually found a motor with 12 pins that would probably match my cable but it's different shape so i don't know if it will work. All my mechanics say to be careful and don't risk getting the wrong part.
mk2
Nice looking Lupo! 👍🏻😎 Try and clean your old motor before swapping for a different type. I don't think it will fit, but you can try. Which car does the replacement come from?
Purify
His code is 4954041scm and i traced it being for a 1.4mpi.My lupo is 1.7 SDI. The plug is the same. They both are 12 pin but as you can see they are different. I think my cable coming from the car will be able to bend and work but i don't know if it's worth the risk. The first mechanics said they cleaned them and supposedly worked but the right one didn't. The second mechanic said both are for replacement(though i feel he doesn't understand very well those mechanisms and parts) and the third mechanic fixed the right motor by re-alighning it. Now both mechanisms and motors work but i am afraid if they leave me with an open window because of all the warnings i got from the second mechanic. Unfortunately i am not from the town i live in and i don't know any competent mechanic i can trust. Everyone tells me different stories. mk2
Test if your original motor works, without the window...
Purify
Well at this point the original motors do work with the windows on so they should work without them as well. I don't understand..
mk2
Sounds like it's working again?
Purify
Yes right now both work but because of the warnings, right now i am in the lookout for new mechanisms and motors.
Skajme
There's a part of me that has a distant memory from somewhere about these where i read that one of the cogs or some part involved wears down in a certain place causing it not to work after a while and realigning it will fix it. Now I have no idea where I saw this information but it sounds like that's what has happened and what they have done to fix it. I would imagine it will probably be ok for a good while if that's the case Edited November 13, 2023 by Skajme

I watched a very nice video from a guy who takes the entire thing apart.
