ArosaSportLSD
Hi there: Does anyone know if this really works to convert the open diff in a limit slip differential? https://www.mts-motorsport.com/epages/61752271.mobile/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61752271/Products/%22MTS/085%22 In the description says: "for VW Polo/Lupo Seat Arosa too 085 gearbox" Thanks. ArosaSportLSD
I see... and is it possible to buy an helical LSD for the 085 gearbox? I've found the Quaife for the 02T/02U gearbox (5/6 speed) fitted to Lupo GTI, but not for the 085 box.
mk2
You do the honours @Rich ... I'll just say this though- limited slip doesn't need to rely on friction (=loss of power).
ArosaSportLSD
https://www.mts-motorsport.com/epages/61752271.mobile/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61752271/Products/PGAU906.001 The thing is that the kit I've put before doesn't look the same as this one :S Could you please elaborate a bit more on this? Thanks!
ArosaSportLSD
No way to fit a LSD to the 085 gearbox?
mk2
Yes, but the box is max rated to about 80hp. And low torque. It was originally designed for the VW Derby... So why would anyone want a LSD on a low power car? You'll have to search, but I think you only will need to change the cage and core, while keeping the old crown wheel. If the diff flange bearings fit, and the output splines are the same, and the crown gear bolt holes line up, any LSD could work. Try for a golf or polo....? ArosaSportLSD
I want the car to transfer torque from the inside to the outside wheel in order to induce yaw / rotation, like a bit of power on oversteer, tightening the line instead of ploughing into understeer. I would use 165/60/13 Nankang AS-1 in order to lower the gearing, lowering the center of gravity, and with less grip find the limits sooner so inducing that rotation would be easier. I just want a fun handling car, very short, light and agile and añso that conveys sense of speed. The torque is just about 25 Nm less than Lupo GTI by the way...
