I say go with the back street garage i use one near me they charge £5 to fix a puncture and £5 to fit tyre and balance. Some people will do anythin for a fiver

Hey guy's an girl's great thread i've alway's been part of the built not bought way of thinkin though not being a mechanic can lead to some interesting times... For example a couple of months ago my heater matrix went on my mk2 golf so off i went to gsf got the parts needed and dug out the haynes manual had a quick read through over a cup of tea and myself and a friend got to it thinkin we would be done in a couple of hours. How niave anyway after a day of cursing and removing various bits of the interior trim we had it replaced and finished off the next morning. It could have been done at a garage in a couple of hours im sure but where's the fun in that! What else are days off for . Also i didnt mention it was only just above freezing outside. Me and my friends have spent many hours armed with not much more than a few spanners and a bit of common sense fixing our cars and it usually works out. After all if something comes off it usually goes back on in the same way. Though the idea of have a "chequebook car" sounds great as long as you make some effort in my case i don't have a cheque book .
