If your going to be doing a lot of work yourself I say get your self to halfords and get a 150piece tool set. proper good stuff. I use mine everyday at work, and EVERYTHING is garanteed. (not the ratchets) and while your there get some copper grease and penatrating oil. Rears are a piece of piss. Jack car up. Fire axel stands where they should go. wheels off. move the jack under the rear arm/axel thinggy, jack it up so the weights off. undo the shock bolts. SLOWLY let the jack down. enough so you can get the old springs out. once there out fire the new ones in. jack the rear arm back up, fire the bolts in. wheels on etc etc Think thats about up for the rears. only done a few front springs at work. sot so sure what to do there......

I didn't have a good look. Juts noticed it was hitting it. I will have a proper look soon. I think I'll leave it, as it's not effected the handeling on the car. But I will change it when I can. Also get all new bushes while I'm there

Had the car up at work and noticed the antiroll bar is catching in on the bottom arm. Causing it to make horid nosies, where can I get one for cheap? I done a quick search and there all about £300, I can't pay that much out yet. Thanks

I'm in the need of discs and pads. While I'm in that end of the car I wondered how much it would cost to put bigger brakes on the front. Or would I need to source some golf calipers. Can anyone shed some light.. Cheers

Evening all. Some of you may know my Bro. (Gibbeth!) on here. I have his car. So you will see me post about silly things on here most likely. Just really saying hello. and sorry if I seem a bit stupid. thats just me!! Jobs to do on the loop: Lower it. (low as poss with out being silly) sort the little niggle things out. like the wipers not workin, trim pannels not being there, brakes. Clean it, (getting it done in the morning) GTI bumpers? maybe, if he lets me. There loads I want to do but money isnt my friend at the min SO one for the posters now. How low is too low, with out being silly. there is speed bumps around my area. want to clear them, but only just Peace out!
