  1. pm me ur chassis number and i'll look for you!
  2. i bought my "bmc-a-like" from halfrauds for £70! had to make a few mods to get it to fit mind, tho nothing too taxing! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> i modded a mk4 golf 1.6 intake pipe for the throttle body and a passat 1.6 pipe for the connection to the intake pipe on the lupo couldn't comment on whether the car is faster as a result, but the noise is impressive!!!
  3. i've had 18 warranty claims since september 2004, 5 of them for the high-level brake light! so i think that i may get the extended warranty option too, tho hopefully as i work for a dealership, they will do me a reasonable deal!
  4. lupo red piping mats are now obsolete from vw with none left in the uk!
  5. 6 speed is the way forward tho! lol
  6. the rear speakers are crap! you can hear the suspension vibrating at any volume! really need to upgrade. been into halfrauds and a few car hi-fi shops, and none of them list a direct replacement or even an adaptor ring. even vw can't list them correctly! they list the rear speakers as gti front door woofers!
  7. i shall be there as usual! see ya there!
  8. i had the same thing with mine, thought they had packed up! topped up the washer bottle, and they work fine! the motor for the headlight washers is the visible one on the bottle in the engine bay, and the motor for the windscreen washers is mounted lower down at the bottom!
  9. i really want to upgrade the rear quarter panel speakers in my gti, but no-one seems to know what size they are or what will fit! i have tried some 16cm co-axials in an adaptor ring i made up, but the cover won't go back on! so any help would be appreciated! here is a pic of where i want them to go: border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
  10. that is a good part number for the breather pipe on an avy gti engine, tho it has superceeded to 036 103 474 ap

  13. 3b0 857 058 1qa is £27.26 inc vat from vw
  14. as above, should be kicking off around 7 ish, was a good turn out last month, fecking cold mind!
  15. i was hoping that the base part of the facelift polo mirrors with indicators would fit, but it doesn't! ******! think that the actual mounting part of the miror is different on all the vw models, so would have to say no, i don't think any will fit! sorry!
  16. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  17. i got an updated memo round from vw hq stating that the cambelts should be changed every 60k or 4 years, whichever is soonest, about 2 weeks ago! this has just changed from 6-0k/ 5years! we had a car in today that had covered 10k, but was 4 years old, but still required the belt and tensioner regardless!
  18. if you unlock the car with the key, you have ten seconds to put the key in the ignition, or the alarm will go off! also, when you change the battery in the remote fob, it has to be done within a minute, or the fob will need to re-programmed! believe me, this is not a myth, as i have changed many batteries at work for retail customers, and it still hasn't worked! the vw part number for a cr 2032 battery is n 105 283 01, cost is £3 inc vat
  19. this is a common vw problem, where the pipe onto the washer jet leaks water onto the bootlock, this has the boot switch built in, so therefore búggers it up! if your car is under warranty and you use the vw screenwash for fan jet systems, (G 052 164 a2), then get it there and they will fix it for you!
  20. the filling quantity of the 6 speed gti gearbox is 2.1 litres. the part number for the oil is g 052 178 a2 and is sold in 1 litre bottles in the uk!
