  1. Did you notice any difference in handling?
  2. I had some spare time, and I wanne to practice the Nordschleife at home. I began with rFactor and donloaded the Nordschleife 2008 track and Lupo Cup mod (1.6 GTI) First I changed al drive-ability things to my own Lupo - Took over my own power curve. You can give in torque for the full rev range with steps op 250 revs. - Just deleted the 6th gear - Rev limiter to 5550 rpm - Changed gear ratio to mach my own. It's not exactly there, but is comes close. - Changed weight After that I took care of the exterior. - First I removed al adds. - Changed the red into black - I don't now the right English words, but i changed the window banner to the same that's on my car right now. - Changed the front bumper to an SDI bumper - Replaced GTI grill by SDI grill - Placed the fog-lights - Placed the intercooler - Mounted my own license plate. - I could not remove the exhaust so I just made it black - Put my own head into the helmet (just for fun, you only see it when you really zoom in) - "TDI Club Nederland"- logo on the back window - And last but not least.. Big fat SDI logo at the back Traction is a problem, but this is how it accelerates in the game. You should watch it full screen and check out the dashboard gauges. Then compare this vid with the ones from above My first good time at Nordschleife with this car was 8 min 55 sec.
  3. I lowered my Arosa 1.4 TDI last week, and this weekend the inlet hose from the turbo to the intercooler was torn. After lowering the drive shaft was rubbing the inlet hose. This hose is the same for the 1.2 3L (#4) Is there anyone here that experienced the same problem. What did you do to solve it? I already ordered a new hose. I think I'm going to adapt it by cutting 1 or 2 cm from the turbo side, so it will be mounted higher.
  4. That's 186,000 miles.... ..but off course nothing on that car is original anymore.
  5. There already is more then 140000 miles on the car. When the conversion was done 2 months ago, he put in a new engine with 62000 miles. The car is holding up very well. I don't know how much he spend in total, because he's good frieds with the best diesel tuner from the Netherlands. A lot of thinks were done without any cost.
  6. That is 54 mpg driving normal (I'm a sporty driver) And just 42 mpg when I really step on it.. (driving over 90 mph) On the highway it drives like a much bigger car. Because of al the torque in low revs you can drive real lazy. It holds up very good and drives very comfortable, but is quick enough to tease much (stock) faster cars. It only sounds and react like a 3 cylinder when it's idling. When you drive it it feels much more like a 4 cylinder. I'm used to much faster cars, and it's not like you're going to outrun a stock Golf V gti, but is is fast enough to chase an Audi TT 180 HP up till 125 mph. And the fun-factor is that nobody expects this from such a small car. If you wan't it to be really quick you should invest in something like this: http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=78711
  7. It's even far better. The reason for that is because the original turbo is a conventional wastegate turbo. This is a VNT turbo wich is responding much faster at low revs. More torque (in low revs especially) makes the car much more economic. It does 23 km's with 1L When I really push it it still does 18 km's with 1L
  8. If you dare... This is theoretically when it will go in to the rev limiter.. As there is 360 lbft (limited to save the gearbox) all the way up to 5700 revs, I think it will do.. But I don't know if I dare..
  9. That is my lupo now. http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=78711 @rigs Why not the 6 speed? It has a larger flywheel and clutch and the gearbox itself is much stronger You should only put in a very long 1st an 2nd gear so you could do a 60 mph in second gear...
  10. You ask... I give... Volkswagen Lupo 1.7 SDI 60 HP 85 lbft Optins None MODS Engine 1.9 TDI PD AXR Oversized pistons Flowed cylinderhead Race cams Race injectors GT2260V turbo Large FMIC 2,5" exhaust from turbo with only one silencer (simons) Stonger bearings etc. Transmission Sachs race clutch Quaiffe LSD Stonger custom drive shafts Longer 5-gear transmission Suspension Seat Ibiza 6L fusee's 5x100 pdc with 5x100 brake discs Billstein Shock Absorbers from a Seat Ibiza Cup car ERS springs 80kg front/50kg rear Al black powerflex rubbers Interior Completely emptyed Corbeau seats Cobra 4-point belts Result 270 hp / 360 lbft +- 0-112 mph in 13sec The car also have been on 320 HP / 384 lbft but that did brake down the gearbox. The engine can handle it with no probs, so if I mount a 6-gear transmission I can even put out more HP. 60-215 km/h (35-135 mph) (135 mph is topspeed with the old gearbox. Right now with the new gearbox it is doing 174 mph) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWx-heYabRA] http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=78711
  11. I would go for the swap if I were you...
