That garage just gets worse really doesnt it!? Noobs!

Ahh right. Ill give that a go then. If i need to take it into someone to sort it out, will it be a mechanic or an auto-electrician? The garage i had it at suggested I see the latter. Apparently they dont fix things theyve broken!

The light hasnt come on since i topped up the coolant. After i checked that the light was finally out, I took it out for 5 minutes (when I drove it home from the garage yesterday, the temp gauge was maxed out after about 3 minutes) On this quick round the block trip, the guage stayed in the middle so thought id fixed the problem. Drove into town (about 3 miles trip) and After about 2.5 miles the guage was hitting the max again. The temp light stayed off. I left the car to stand for about 2 hours, and on the way home I put the heater on full blast. The guage stayed in the middle til i got home. All this has come about since i had my Power steering pipe replaced yesterday, so thats why im wondering if its something serious (which I cant get my head round as it was fine before it went into the Garage) or if theyve just knocked something? As stupid as it sounds, I dont know how to check if my engine fan thing is working? The heat blowing out of my in-car radiator heats up no probs! Ive read previous threads about overheating, when I open my bonnet after ive driven it, its not overwhelmingly hot, but dont knoe where anything is to check for connections etc Im desperate to get this sorted out, help anyone?!

Yeah, I took it out properly a bit ago and the the guage hit the top end again much to my panic! The lights not flashing anymore. On the way back I had my fan on full blast and the guage stayed in the middle. Arrrgghhh so confused. I dont kow wether to drive it or not?!

I would if they didnt mess something up every time it goes in. Went in for tis MOT, came out with broken power steering, Went in for the power steering sorting and came out with a knackered fan! I think theyre just doing it so i keep them in business. On a different note ive had a go with it myself, put some new coolant in, the warning light doesnt go off at me and the guage sits in the middle now. Maybe they just didnt check the simplest thing? Weird!

I got my Arosa back from the garage yesterday after they replaced my power steering pipe, only for them to tell me its overheating now (it wasnt before i took it in, i think theyve messed something up) My fans not kicking in and within a mile of driving, the temp gauge is hitting its maximum (is this even possible??) the temperature warning light it flashing its balls off at me too. The garage wouldnt sort the problem because they say i need an auto electrician. Is it possible theyve knocked something whilst replacing my power steering pipe? I cant afford for anything else to be wrong with it now, the poor mites been out of actiuon for two weeks as it is!!

Thanking you for the advice, I decided to leave it at home this week and managed to borrow my mums pimped out proton instead Still, better than beginning the day with a 5am bus journey! :-)

Ey Up, My Arosa failed its MOT yesterday with a power steering fluid leak, one of the pipes is knackered (i suspected something was wrong with it anyway due to some little noises when in full lock, but as soon as I got it back yesterday it suddenly felt like trying to steer a dead horse). Anyway, as I have a lengthy commute to work everyday its not a simple case of being able to hop on a bus. I asked the mechanic at the garage if the car was still ok to drive and if i'd balls up my steering furthur by driving it. I was told as long as I kept the fluid topped up, it would be ok but there would be some strange noises. About an hour ago we put in some new fluid only for it to pump straight out into the road and start screaming at me like a tortured witch (again, none of this had occurred before I took it to the garage!) Its all leaked out now, and Im back to the dead horse situation with no funny noises apparant. Will I be ok driving my car on the 40mile round trip to work unitl saturday, or am I doing more damage? I dont want to end up writing it off or ending up in an m62 mangled wreck! Ill have to drive it tomorrow until I can get insured on someone elses car, but if I can find out if im messing it up more, I can try cadge a lift instead! Any help would be awesome, Im rubbish at all this stuff. Thank yoouuuu!

Thanks for the info, i got it checked out today after work and its my spring thats broken!! The end of it has ended up in the middle somewhere :S So instead of replacing im finally getting my coilies fitted, yaaaay!

Im pretty sure the cv joint on my front drivers side has died, but i wont be able to get it sorted until the weekend. Until then, i still have to get to work which is a 40 mile round motorway trip. Just to make sure, my car wont unexpectedly collapse and kill everyone on the m62 will it?? I had the same problem with my micra ages ago and drove it for a few weeks before fixing, but im covering significantly more miles these days and dont fancy dying anytime soon! Thanks guys!

Just do all of it purple or pink!!! When i was blonde i always used to want a blue rinse or a rose tinted wash thing putting on, so its not massivley obvious but still looks ace do it do it do iiiiit. I think ive had about 5 different hair colours in a year so far, and with you being blonde it wont stick so much.. if you dont like it, it will fade faster And i realise this is totally off topic.. sorreeeeee!
