  2. more accurate than the speedo on the dash! the higher the speed the more inaccurate it is!
  3. take off the trim on the inside of the boot lid. put the window spray connector back on to the nozzle nipple. wipe away the moisture and then use a hairdryer on the entire area for a few mins. this worked for me!
  4. yup water pishing into the sensor, happened to me in the middle of the night and the alarm kept going off every 10mins all night long!
  5. If its the alloys I'm thinking of then I think they will suit the look you are trying to achieve, I've got eibachs springs and koni dampers which lower and stiffen the car enough to make it perform better but if your wanting to be a poser rather than a driver then coilovers are better! :wink:

  11. The vacuum gauge is useful for timing your engine (I'm about to fit fast road cams with vernier pulleys) as your engine should creat about 2"Hg vacuum during idle. It should be connected to a vacuum source from the manifold but not a ported one(one that rises with rpm!) You can get a chart which shows the different problems with your engine as readouts on the vac. gauge, some of them are...burnt or sticking v/vs, blown head gasket, fueling not adjusted corrsctly etcetc! Plus they look cool. You can get ones with blue backlight to match the loops interior lighting! 8)
  12. Yeah but I'll have a mate "supervising" whose done it before on a golf! The company also quoted `7-10` days delivery and there available for all 16V VW models right up to an opening of just under 300 deg. for the non VVT engines, these are the only ones available for the Loop/Polo GTi due to the intake VVT!
  13. Right going to order dr. schrick camshafts for the loop, figured I've been talking about it for loing enough! Just gonna get the cams and whap them on then get adjustable pulleys later when I've got more time to faff about with them! For the record the standard spec of cams on the GTi are, intake `205-246` deg.+ exhaust 215 deg. The schrick cams spec are intake 256 deg.(lift 9.15)+ exhaust 244 deg.(lift 9mm) That should give me a decent increase in oomph without sucking my low end power and bloomin' up my idle!!!!!! They cost just under 400 bucks+ VAT for the pair + postage and packing from badger5.co.uk!
  14. I was originally going to buy a polo gti before I found the lupo, which I found to be quite a bit quicker than the Polo! The Polo is starting to be an old car now, when was the last one built, late 2001 or early 2002? Lupo everytime!
  15. If its not a sticking butterfly v/v or throttle cable it may be the fuel pump or fpr not providing enough pressure causing the car to stall, it may be handy for you to get `VAG-COM` if the cars out of warranty!

  17. West kilbride, just south of Largs! yourself? One of my mate made his own enclosed induction kit for his Punto, I think you can buy an actual bit that goes round the filter to do it! THink its just a metal sheet that bends round the filter and then screws together when the end meet! I'll try and find out where he got it from or if he had it made!
  18. Yeah thats just the crap from the breather pipe, shouldn't be a great deal of it just a residue, just give it a wipe away, you can get a small filter for the end of the breather pipe rather than having it go into the engine! think they are just over a tenner!

The nozzle of the injector has several small holes so that the fuel atomises(ie is injected as a fine mist as the more surface area is available to Oxygen the biggerr an explosion you'll get), solids build up on the end of the nozzle over time(just carbon deposits) this may lead to some of the holes blocking so as the same amount of fuel is going to be injected, if some of the holes are blocked it isn't going to atomise as much so not asa good explosion! The cleaner breaks up these solid deposits! The engines I work with the injectors are sometimes a couple of feet in length, we sometimes get big chunks of carbon almost as big as golf balls so go outside and play baseball with them!(thats why my company will be going out of business soon! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )

  21. connect the big pipe to the wee pipe, unplug the positron resistor from the battery, wire in the flux capacitor( negative first or you'll cause a time paradox), pour in your dylithium crystals(supplied with the BMC) and set your phasors to stun! Thats pretty much your BMC installed! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> :wink:

Ok I was on the phone to my local VW place oredering a few odds and sods and I asked the guy about this, he went away for a few mins to ask and see if anybody knew, when he came back he said all insurance companies should have information on their computers on the standard alarm and immobiliser provided with each UK VW car. not very helpful then!
