  1. Lower arm ball joints are different. How is it out? Serious positive or negative camber or is the toe? Edit: Did you change the ball joints?
  2. I would be very interested in a group buy too as mine is knackered
  3. Cheers but i could weight them in for almost that. Lowered the price to £100 before i chuck them on ebay individually. Offers on the tyres?
  4. My mate will have these and the other set. He isnt on here but is on club polo so he will contact you through there very very soon
  5. Could always press the middle out a £2 coin
  6. 60 minutes is 1 degree for future reference. I don't know how asking for your camber to be set at 2 degrees is remotely confusing, think he was just being a tit.
  7. o2 sensors not co2. If it is bringing the light on, it is effecting the running of the engine. There are two o2 sensors on the car, one before and one after the cat. They measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas stream. Was that the price to replace the pre cat sensor? The car is constantly adjusting the amount of fuel injected based on the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas. For the perfect mixture 14.7 parts of air are required per 1 part fuel. The sensor detects the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas and adjusts the fuel injected to keep it at that ratio. The o2 sensor will for example read lean, so a little more fuel is injected. It will then read rich and a little bit of fuel is taken away. Of course this happens several times a second so that the engine is running efficiently and emissions are kept at their lowest. If the sensor fails you will notice an increase in fuel consumption. Have a read of this link. Will give you a good understanding of how it works
  8. I did search and it has been spoken about but no definite answer! if i wanted 10mm on the front and 15mm on the back, would standard universal jobbys do the job with a spigot ring or that a bit dangerous? I know you read on the internet about peoples wheels coming off and its the spacers fault but if the bolts are tightened by hand in opposites before the final torque, would i be likely to get wheel wobble? I had a look on the fk website but it isn't to clear what the difference between type a and type a hubcentric is. Does type a have the 57.1 bore on the inside so they sit nicely, with no lip on the outside for the wheel, and does the hubcentirc a have a 57.1 bore with a lip on the outside for the wheel? Thanks!
  9. All info is here: http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roadsafety/drs/hidheadlamps I had them on my old ibiza for ages, the only issue is your get a really bad beam pattern as it projects the light all over the place so you would need to put your old bulbs in for MOT. I never got pulled for them though, even though they are quite blatantly not supposed to be fitted.
  10. Get a multimeter out to check live, ignition live etc
  11. You on about the door card creaking? My passenger door card does it from near the locking pin. Replaced the clips but still does it. Im going to felt tape around the clips soon and see if this makes a difference. Boot has bumpstops that can be wound in and out iirc. Wind them out a touch and see if the boot creek stops. Could be the boot trim though as my one was also fairly noisey - especially with the sub going! Again i fitted new clips, felt tape around the points where the trim touches the body, crytox grease on the seals and loft insulation in the boot to deaden it. Can only hear a slight rattle if you listen carefully but im pretty sure thats the parcel shelf as it doesnt fit very well.
  12. TTT. Offers? May sell bathurst's as singles if any interest?
  13. Cups are sold! Tyres now £80 ono
  14. Above definitely works. First thing i did when i got mine.
  15. Right got to clean out the garage and shed for the parents so got a few bits to sell. Firstly, 2 x 195/45/15 Continental Sport Contact 2s. Were only on the car for winter so practically new. 6-7mm tread. After £60. Next is a set of Ats cups that i was going to refurb. 15x7 et 28. Was planning on painting the centres and polishing the dish. Had started to remove the lacquer from the wheels and clean the dish up with some 600 wet and dry. Been sat in the shed for a while and no longer needed. Some curb damage but overall not bad condition. Come with center caps. After £200. Last is a set of lupo gti bathursts. 15x6.5 et 43. These were on my car when i brought it. They are curbed and in need of a refurb. Currently painted in black with silver flakes. Bad points are there are no center caps and one of the wheels is buckled. It was on the car for a few weeks before i span up the wheels on a ramp and noticed it but the buyer should obviously be aware of this. As one needs repairing im going to say £100 All items are collection from Swindon just off M4 J16. Will listen to offers and ill do deals if buyer is after more than 1 of the items. Thanks!
  16. Which ones where present? Did you erase all the faults? Sounds like a fueling issue if you are getting a good spark!
  17. There is an insurance section on the main page . Those quotes are ridiculous though. Who is that with? Try bell and admiral. Im with them and they are very cheap. If you have a look in the insurance section there is bound to be some info on companies that deal with low no claims and new drivers.
  18. Ive just fitted some 165/50/15 bridgestone's to some 7j wheels. What PSI do people run? Got 2 degree camber on the front so don't want the insides wearing fast. Got them at 34 all round at the moment to see how they wear. Also has anyone else noticed alot of road noise from them? This is comparing them to my 195/45 contis that where fitted before.
  19. Yeah interior light works fine. It gradually goes out after a while (havnt got exact time) but doesn't lock.
  20. Hi. My GTI no longer seems to auto lock after 30 seconds when you unlock it and get something out for example. Is there a way to teach or code it back on? Thanks in advance
  21. As above. Also would you post?
  22. If its just the plug connection there then there isn't anything to draw current as its open circuit. Is that doors just shut and not locked then? Would the current draw not be different with the car being locked? Could try this with the doors and boot open, just make sure you latch them over so the car thinks the doors are closed and hit the little button near the drivers seat to turn of the interior sensors. If you can get the multimeter in series like you did before without breaking the contacts (as this would set the alarm off) it will then give you a accurate reading of what the vehicle is actually drawing overnight when you leave it. And as i said before without manufactures specification, you don't have anything to compare your results to.
