How does a diesel car manage to get round the MOT's without a cat? Dubbersdoo i always thought it was an emissions fail, do the tdi's not need them? Skezza i can not stand the things lol, they are so restrictive. I'm interested to know if you can pass an MOT without one in. I wont bother having a pipe made up i'll just have a new bit welded in.

What's a diesel purge? If you want a after market filter i would fit one that takes the actual filter outside of the engine bay as its pointless otherwise. I've done countless tests with my r32 and i run a Carbonio and that takes the filter totally out the engine to the passenger side bottom vent. On the Surrey Rolling Road it gained 8bhp over the standard airbox. Do they do anything like this for the Lupo, i've looked but not founf anything ? I might make myself one up if they dont.

I'm not after gaining loads of bhp but a map of some sort would be nice and the 5th gear mod would be good too Who do good maps for them? I've always gone custom but tbh a decent map would do. What are the like of Revo like on the lupo's? I've seen some of Dervtechs stuff on the tdi side and they look good.

Cruise is pretty handy if your on a long drive, it just takes all the effort out of your right foot. I have to stop sometimes and get out the car just to move my foot when on a long drive. Its lovely having cruise fitted.

I've bought it purely as a cheap mile muncher. I'm going to do the 5th gear mod and fit cruise, these would really help me. I live in Cornwall and drive back to Watford every 2 weeks, the round trip is over 550 miles so multiply that by 2 each month. I sit on the M4, M5 and M25. I've worked it out that it should cost me about £80 to do the 1100 miles in the Lupo compared to the £350 odd i usually spend. If a i can do a few little upgraded to make the driving a little easier i'm well up for that

I'm going to give it a full service when i get it back so will sort out a map for it after that

Can i pick your brains a little. Sorry to jump on this thread but it is tdi related and may help you out too How strong are these tdi engines for mapping? All my knowledge is in Mk4 Golfs so this is all new to me. The Tdi that i have just bought has 199k on the clock. Ive bought it off a friend and know the car very weel and its not a shed by any means. Would an engine with 200k on the clock be ok if its serviced well? I don't need the car for speed but if the overall driveablity was improved i would go for a map. I dont want to loose any mpg.

Those figures are brilliant! 70mph is a nice cruising speed so to get 65 mpg would be so good! When you say mods to the tdi to get the best mpg, what mods are you talking about? I'm on the lookout for the gti lights, none about at the moment, i think this might take a while lol.

The Lupo TDI that ive just bought has 199,240 miles on the clock but it's still going strong.

Hi mate . I've bought it off a mate and he says he gets 60+ mpg on a run. I cant get my head round that figure! I use to so much less. They have a fair bit of poke to them too for only 75bhp

Do you have any more info on the car? Have you still got it and if so how is it running? I'm planning on upping the power on my Tdi. Any info would be sweet

They mention a 6 speed conversion? I wonder if this can be done easily? I would deffo be up for a 6th gear if i could.

I'm really interested in this. So its like having a 6th gear fitted with the way it drops the revs but still only having 5.

Are the rear lights still for sale? How much are these posted?

Sorry to jump on this thread and ask about a different model but does the same stand for the Tdi Lupos? Can you take out the silencers and Cat to make it a straight through system?

I was always under the impression that you needed some form of headlight washer and also the levelling function to make them fully legal. I'm very interested in getting the Gti xenon's fitted though. If its a straight swap like some of you are saying then that is a real bonus but if there's a little work required i don't mind doing that either. Although the car's already been lowered with a set of wheels i'm going to treat this as a little project and do some more changes. I'm just amazed on how sweet the MPG is, if i can get 50mpg on a run i will be over the moon I pick the car up Friday so will start a build thread next week.

Hi guys I've just bought a Lupo Tdi off a mate and signed up to the forum and have been using the search bar for a few things. I've been looking for some info on fitting some Lupo Gti xenons to my Lupo Tdi. I've found a couple of threads on here but they are all pretty old and have limited info. I was just wondering if anyone has any up to date knowledge on the conversion? Can it be done, what would be needed, would i need a complete Lupo Gti front end? Cheers
