Rents had a 2.0 16V Jetta, that thing really shifted for a derv. Even Kam was impressed. Now they've got a 1.6 TDI mk6 thing and it's pants, it feels like a petrol, a slow petrol at that, I'm banned from driving it for the abuse I gave it when I drove it out the showroom. Redline ftw.

You're taking the pistons out. You're changing the oil and filter. . . . . . . . . . regardless of how new it is. Also add a tube of sump sealer onto there as well. I'd run the 15/40 whilst you look for a new engine if I was you.

Head gasket. Head bolts. Piston rings. May as well do the bearings whilst they're out. Possible honing of the bores. Oil & filter change. Coolant change. Timing belt and water pump unless you know how new they are. And that's just off the top of my head.

I'm not a motor factors so I don't know these amounts of the top of my head. Nor do I wish to sit and look them up for you. I will offer advice and sarcasm if it's deserved though. Remember, most importantly, Rich for CL member of the year 2011.
