That would be me, am i right in thinking roundabout by VW garage?
  4. Hooray indeed! Shame they never did the GTi in yellow!

  5. There's always room for more yellow in peoples lives
  6. Haven't done one of these in a while so I thought I'd give it a go and add a bit of colour to the proceedings! Not much of a change just a general tidy up .
  7. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> Hmm thts odd not sure why the pics arent working. I have them on putfile so if anyone knows why it might not be working then let me know. Will post some before pics up at some point but heres the done list... Resprayed bonnet black. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Reshaped passenger side wing around headlight, was pushed in quite a bit. De-rusted, treated, filled and sprayed lots of knocks and dents elsewhere. Reformed rear bumper, was at a slant to the drivers side as the mount was pushed in on that side. And wider tyres on some shiny wheels which are waiting to be identified. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Just lots of cosmetic work really tht took a lot of sanding to get the surface right, all good practise seeing as i still havn't painted the lupo spoiler i got a year ago! All it needs now is one of those rat styles stickers i saw on here at one point.
  8. Hello once again lupo lovers, has been a while since i last posted so i thought i would post some pictures to explain what i've been up to recently. Bought myself a 1.0L polo for £50, basically just to learn a few things hands on. I ended up just experimenting with it... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> The VW double border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> Doesn't look like much but it was never meant to (all the work to it cost me £20), most jobs were simply to de-rust it! Sounds like a crap job but i used it as practise for filling and prepping, i need to do a few bits on the lupo and i wouldn't trust myself not having done it before. But its all done now and now i'm ready for some investigative engine tinkering. 10 points to the one who knows what wheels they are style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. I saw that the other day, on friday evening so unless its been sold since then you should be ok. Looks clean as a whistle, if only i had £10k to spare, bloody student lifestyle... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

    Carbon Bonnet ?

I think it could be something like 'All Smiles'. Is in one of the old PVW mags, i'll dig it out and have a look...
  11. Looks like mine when i have two people in the back! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  12. Very nice style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> . Will be looking for one of these myself over the summer as a project, need something to play with! You bringing it up to cov? If so i'll have to keep an eye out for it, doubt i'd miss it though! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  13. 1: Could this be there because the polos had this feature? Would make sense seeing as the clocks are the same just looking at them. 2: Must admit mines blue too style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  14. You're not the only one mate, would suit my car perfectly style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  15. Would also be a bit of a C-nut trying to change the tail light bulbs style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

    Pub vs Mosque

Sorry was avoiding the explanation. They immigrate here in their hundreds and complain that they dont get equal opportunities etc... also complain about rascist remarks and treatment which is fair enough and i have no problems with it. As a result of the new police/workplace/general vigilance on stopping this kinda thing then everyone else starts panicking about offending them and their religions. The councils and general public now start thinking oh hang on this could be insulting to Mr X. This over political correctness is the reason for things like this happening, the most stupid being the bah bah ethnic minority sheep b*llocks, and this is due to the increasing ethnic population, ergo they are but indirectly. Wasnt wanting to write an essay so just skipped the story, sorry. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

    Pub vs Mosque

What i find most funny about the whole world cup thing is that as more and more cars have St Georges flying from the windows, some different flags are appearing. Theres seem to be plenty of pakistani flags flying from cars up here in coventry and i have never figured out why seeing as they arent in the world cup. Odd thing is that the police up here have been asking people to remove the St Georges flags from their vehicles due to the mix races here in coventry, am yet to see any of the pakistani flags taken off! Even so i reckon its fair enough that they want to be patriotic even in another country, though it is taking the biscuit that they seem to be stopping us from doing the same in our own country as nfbr says, regardless of whether its just because it looks silly. Not like cars were designed to have flags on them! You could always try saying that the pub is the modern Englishmans place of worship as a fight back, as i bet most of us spend more time in pubs than in churches. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  18. But what if i want to take offence, surely you are denying me of my right to argue till i'm blue in the face... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> To be honest the thing i dont understand is the whole 'clique' thing. Have been on this forum a couple of years now and have never felt that way (owning a 1.4 75bhp). I havn't even seen a single post to warrant this view, fair enough i havn't read them all but in general all these GTi owners are incredibly helpful to all of us with our show and no go versions. I think we'll just have to wait for the sun to come out again and cheer everyone up, bl**dy english weather style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  19. Learnt to drive in one of these and definately agree with the steering comment you get very little feedback. Other than that its easy to drive, hence being used as a learners car! Wouldn't put it down as a fun car but other than the unfortunate chav image its been given i dont reckon it looks that shabby when you compare it to everything else (bar the lupo). Shame that old professor in the zafira adverts was in charge of interior design! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Engine wise the 1.2 16v is a bit of a wet flannel when you take it near a hill though, and you would really notice the drop or performance changing down from a GTi. On what to choose however i'm having the same problem, i'd like something faster but the world of insurance is a pain in the ass. I'm just sticking with my 1.4 and saving endlessly till i get more years driving under my belt, no point getting ripped off be insurance companies earlier than you have to! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> You could just downsize to a 1.4 sport and save up for a better car in the future. With £8500 to play with you could get yourself a nice 944 turbo in a few years time. Or whatever thats just my plan style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  20. well i was only going for ease of fitment style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  21. Cheers guys. I just love that colour. Definately has to be done, dump a lupo GTi engine in it and there you have a mini cupra!
  22. Nothin there to bad-boy really looks hard as anyway headlight wise. Looks sweet as is mate. Though as you've smoothed the doors then smooth the bumpers, think this should help. Possibly a bit of widening too border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />

    Polo GTi

    Couldn't resist having a play myself though i would personally go for the older version border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  24. My drivers side has done the same, pops up to the locked position when the car is unlocked. I'm guessing that the screw thread part has snapped so it just slips over the metal pin its attached to, havn't looked to check tho!
  25. I reckon you could be a first and go for anthracite mesh. Will stand out just enough without being too 'barry' shall we say. Good choice of bumper by the way.
