  1. They give you a quote online and the website says that wear & tear is acceptable as long as it switches on & off, doesn't have water damage and hasn't been crushed. Gonna send it to them & see what the say - you get 5 days to reject the quote & if you do reject it, they send it back to you. Figured it was worth a try before eBay.
  2. Coming from a 3G. I've opted for 24 month contract this time as I've had my 3G 2 years now and don't mind missing every other update seeing as you get a software update anyway. Envirofone have offered me £197 for my 3G too which isn't bad - much easier than eBaying it and as its got some small marks/wear & tear damage, it's easier to sell it than have to put up with someone on eBay moaning that the pictures only showed 2 scratches when there were 3 etc etc. Can't be bad though - Paid £179 for it, selling it for £197 and have only had to cough up £119 for my 4.
  3. Delivered about 10.30 this morning. Have some how just lost an hour & a half...
  4. Have been working away this week. Will sort them out over the weekend.
  5. I'm slightly concerned about the antenna issue considering I'm left handed... (although I don't normally hold the phone by the bottom corner, so hopefully I'll be OK...)
  6. I'm gonna take this opportunity to repeat my post from this time last year about total loss cancellation clauses... Watch out for them kiddies, they're sneaky little so & so's! So, if I have a total loss claim the day after I renew my policy, I'm now £500 out of pocket - £150 excess and £350 insurance gone. They would not transfer any remaining policy to a new vehicle, they simply cancel the policy. I spoke to the lovely people at Brentacre about this & they said that Total Loss Cancellation is not something they include in their policies. Well worth the risk of the extra £100 excess in my opinion. http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44062
  7. No one steals cars in London because they're scared they're going to steal the car of a dealer/gang member and end up dead or having their gang killed by the other gang. Or maybe thats just in the Bronx.
  8. Who's that with? Seems pretty cheap to me!
  9. Mine will be delivered to me on Saturday, for a delivery charge of 99p.
  10. Aged 30, 9 years protected NCB, no points, no claims, homeowner, sensible job, standard GTI = £360. That's with Brentacre. Aviva came out at over £600 for me. *Sigh*

Girl driver, about 5.45-6ish tonight. E*51*** I think?
  12. He likes it - but then he likes small sporty hatchbacks generally. He changes his cars pretty much every 3 years (buys new & sells when first MOT is due) and has had an ibiza, a fiesta zetec s, a suzuki alto & a clio 197 cup in the last few years (thats what I can remember off the top of my head!) as well as the twingo. He's had the twingo about 18 months now as he bought it just before my Mum bought her polo, but he does less miles nowdays than he used to do which means he doesn't get to spend as much time in the twingo as he did the other cars though. (Plus, he broke his leg about this time last year so it barely moved for about 6 months while he was in plaster/having operations/going to physio) His other car is a lotus cortina...
  13. My Uncle has a twingo sport
  14. Yeah, after a while it would - but then it would for cars written off too.
  15. I got mine 3rd hand and back when the club was very small. Both of the previous owners of my car were families so I'd be surprised if they were on here before I bought mine. Regarding year of registration, I was referring to the GTIs/people on here rather than those registered with DVLA. Quite a big difference between the number of GTIs registered in the UK and those whose owners are on here.
  16. I'm surprised there's not more red GTIs to be honest... Might start a thread for year of registration of GTIs - be interesting to see the spread of ages - whaddya reckon?
  17. Doesn't mean that is the case for all insurers.

We also tried the Maryland Big Chunky cookies at work today - disappointing
  19. This was my understanding of them when I was 18 and looking for car insurance. That's why I've always avoided them.

Kimberley Mikado biscuits. (I think you can still get a variety of those in places like Lidl / Wilkos / Aldi etc) Verdict on lemon jammie dodgers - good, but not great. Not as good as the jammie ones and certainly not as good as lemon bakewells.

Custard creams dunked in tea ftw. Party rings rule too but are very moreish. I could quite easily munch my way through a whole packet and then feel sick for the rest of the day which is why I don't buy them. Bought some lemon jammie dodgers today - anyone tried them yet? Will report back tomorrow...
  22. I think cornflour would be a better idea.
  23. They've already said it will be available, but not all the functionality will work. Been stuff about iOS4 on the apple website for a while.
  24. I don't have any spare phones so I've got to hang on to it until the 4 comes out. Not overly bothered if it doesn't sell for much though as I've had my money's worth out of it really. I've had it for 2 years and its the only phone I've not got bored of. I'm sure there will still be a market for them - the 2G's sold well on eBay when the 3G came out as it'll still be cheaper than buying a 3GS or 4 on PAYG/outside a contract.
  25. I've just had a thorough look at the tech specs & there's nothing about a tuner, so I'd be very surprised. I've got some radio stations through iPlayer on the Wii and through Sky, but not all the ones I want (in particular the station TSO works for!). I can't seem to find anywhere what the ratings are for the speakers on the surround sound - only that in total they are 850w. Rubbish huh? Even the user manual doesn't seem to say!
